I'm trying to put a plan together for parking. I should be arriving about 4 hours before gametime- is that early enough to get a parking spot? I guess the municipal garages are the best for those not holding parking passes? Any garage that is closer/better? I see that I-40 is under construction. I'll be coming from Nashville; will the construction affect us?

I'm open to your suggestions!

You can take I-40 all the way into Knoxville. The construction stops the interstate at James White Pkwy (Exit 388 I think). If you get there 4 hours early, parking should be pretty easy.

j/k, 40E is fine, its 40 W that's closed before James White.

The downtown garages are good choices, esp. if you want to see some nightlife after the game. There is also a campus garage on Cumberland adjacent to the World's Fair Park that I use for basketball when I can't round up a pass, but I don't know if it's public for football, or not. Maybe someone can help? Traffic has not been as bad with the decreased attendance.
