So I have a gamecube, I've had it for a few years now, never any problems. I have not played it in about a month until today, again never any problems. I put in a disk and I start it up and it says no disk found, I try many other disks, and again, no disk found. I noticed that I hear it start up and then hear the disk stop spinning. I finally get one to work after many pushes of the power button and/or reset button. Is this something I will have to take to a local shop or what is going on? Thanks!

Not sure - but I'm sure the little eye thing (don't know the technical name) is scratched or dirty. You should go buy a Wii though

I didn't like the Wii. I think for a girl to even have anything such a gamecube, nintendo 64, and ps2, is good enough.:)

since it's happening to every game you own it's probably the optical lens on the gamecube, which is the thing that reads the discs. IMO, i would try getting it repaired somewhere.

First go to the Gamecube website and check for repair info. My grandson had a Playstation II that was doing the same thing and sent it in to them and they fixed it for a nominal fee. Of course you could call around to local repair shops and see if they can meet the repair price so you don't have to send it off. It could also be possibly still under warranty. Be sure to ask about that.

looking back on it, i think the gamecube was the most dissapointing system i ever had. their game library just didn't "wow" me that much.
