Yes. Then after the one game in 10 days there are another 8 days until another game. I never remember the preseason schedule being this choppy. It's my only complaint about the schedule, which I suspect is a combo of games the last staff committed to and games the new staff thought more appropriate and were able to add.

I worry that this schedule, which is also almost all home games, hasn't prepared the team well for the intense flow of the regular SEC season which is right around the corner. At least two games a week against quality opponents plus travel is on the horizon.

I do not think it was intentional. Coach mentioned a couple of times that several teams dropped us and we had to scramble to pick up games. Had to fit them in where other teams could accommodate us is my guess.

I do think it’s great that the players are getting some extended practice time with a new coach and a new system. From how the players talk about practice I don’t think there will be much rust to knock off.

They have all stated at one point or another practice is way harder than games. They’re gonna be so ready to play lol.

No I don't think either coach would have scheduled the gaps intentionally.

Agree to disagree, there's a different rythmn to 2 games a week and travel into the now bigger SEC. I'm sure they'd rather do the buses and hotels than have so much practice, but travel schedules still can be a factor. They'll get a bit of it in the next few weeks.
