Absolutely frustrating about the FT shooting - if they made the needed 3 more, that would have put them at 73%, and if I'm not mistaken, they've been making them at about an 80% clip the last few games. It was a tough loss that we should have won. In rethinking the whole game I don't think I'm comfy blaming the refs. Certain things are out of the players control. There are a couple of thing that are . . . what is good about <50% foul shooting? It's the one thing you can practice by yourself, anytime. What is terrific about 23 turnovers? I can't believe we are going to beat many good teams with that many lost opportunities.
Refs not going to call a foul but I think that should be a foul on that last possession as Harmon bumps Cooper really hard. I guess they are say Cooper caused the contact even though her back was turned.

She wasn’t passing anyway, the Kane open d up for her, when Lee moved out to the shooter, Preston had her back turned and it looked like an easy layup over a small guard, but by the time Preston turned around to swipe the ball it was already too late for her to react.
Okay, that breaks my heart! They try so hard!I also will eat some crow. Nya played really well for Nya yesterday. She was sprinting to get back on plays and doing a healthy and hilarious amount of smack talking. We needed more from Lyss and Zee. Also worth noting that Mya left the game crying after one of her turnovers. Managing first year players is hard!
If you are going to be successful you need to be constantly learning and adjusting. I remember Pat going to visit coaches (Princeton, NBA) to learn about their offenses/defenses in the summer.totally agree. I think Kim has a lot of reflection that she needs to do this summer on both the system and personnel, and my guess is that we see her go for a wider array of players in the portal including a more traditional
post. Everybody wants a solid post who can get up and down the court so we will have competition for them. Even Vandy found a use for ADR against Texas, and I thought she might be a lost cause. It's nice to have players like that for specific situations or teams though.

Yes Civil should have gone top of the circle to pull the defense and clearer path for Coop. But I believe Civil went down and may have turned an ankle couldn't get up there in time. Here's what I'm talking about... Coop has no options; the drive is dead but there is no one to pass to because both Civil and Nya went to the same spot. Nya's path to the corner looked like the play design; she's even spotting up. What Civil was supposed to do I do not know, but a clear out to the opposite corner would have been ideal or retreating toward the half-court line would have been acceptable. Coop would have had a clear path to the basket or a corner 3 for Nya.

It is possible that was the original stance or at least for 5 positionless players. However, Kim has talked about how valuable Zee is in the post (this was said a couple of times before the last two games), and how we needed a post player like that. It doesn't seem like after experiencing playing in the SEC she has the 5-guard preference anymore.I don’t think they want a traditional post in this system. They’d play five guards if they could.
I was watching Civil from the stands during the end of the timeout right before the play and she kept on massaging her calf like she had a cramp. She looked like she was processing what to do and then just realized the play was about to happen and went with it. I saw the player in that corner roll her ankle seconds before Coop in bounded. She limped pretty severely and then looked at the bench like “Help!” It was definitely an ankle.I was watching Civil from the stands during the end of the timeout right before the play and she kept on massaging her calf like she had a cramp. Harman’s knees made contact between 55’s feet and butt, therefore in his cylinder and a foul since he displaced him. Thanks for the video evidence. Notice his knees are not in his own cylinder…. No vertical defense here.I would like to agree with the comment above, but…
it looks like Cooper lost control of the ball just before contact with Harmon.
I could be wrong, as I can't see behind Cooper's back.

Civil actually fell down like there was a slick spot or something on the floor and looks like she rolled her ankle. Kim walked down there and said something to her right before the inbound. The inbounds play before she was in the same spot but Robertson went to the other side to give Cooper space. Just an odd sequence.I saw the player in that corner roll her ankle seconds before Coop in bounded. She limped pretty severely and then looked at the bench like “Help!” It was definitely an ankle.
Thanks for filling in the details. It was so quick.Civil actually fell down like there was a slick spot or something on the floor and looks like she rolled her ankle.
