Would you take a win against USCjr tomorrow or get into the dance. I know if the LV’s did win it
Would improve their chances. But just asking in general.

If Tennessee competes 40 minutes but still loses by only 15-20, I'll be encouraged by that when looking at the remainder of the schedule.

A 30-40 pt. loss is possible if our shooting is poor, 'cause it sure seems to me like they've got way too many players -- pretty much ALL of them -- who are so quick I'm afraid they'll be blowing right by us on their way to shooting layup after layup after layup all night.

Of course, having Tamari in the paint will help a lot, but I imagine Staley will test the officiating early by sending her quicks down there to try to get Key in foul trouble. If Key sits early with fouls it's going to affect us on both ends.

Hopefully Jill will bring it again, and of course Rickea has to have a great game. Powell needs to play out of her mind and, really, so does Spear.

We will HAVE to have at least one dead-eye shooter from three tomorrow or it'll be ugly.

I guess I'm most worried about keeping them from scoring a hunnert-plus if they're feelin' it and get more and more confident the more tired Tennessee gets trying to keep up with them.

I'm not going to get to be there tomorrow, so I'm already kinda bummed. Sure hope the team finds a way to make a respectable showing.

Saw the chik'n troll post.....after i saw them run through no depth cunnycut women like chik'n feed I see Lady Vols on the end of an ugly...lady roosterettes 87...our team....58. Is vandee women next after this?
Additional thought: haven't seen the ability on the defensive side to shut any team out. We can score, but no stops of a superior team = bad results. I'm usually an optimist, but too much talent and depth on roosterettes side to overcome.

You can tell when a old lame NV like the one above 👆shows back up after posting under another username pretending to have been taking a break…

Jewel Spear has been the LVs most efficient scorer, best ball handler, and elite three point shooter. During SEC play, even with an injured wrist she has earned SEC player of the week.. any NV claiming Rickea has to overcome SC alone is unhinged.
SC is the same team that scored 65 pts against NC lol.

Pili had her way against the lil Birdies.. imagine what a complete offensive player like Jewel Spear can do against SC tonight.

Put the ball in Jewel Spear hand tonight and there’s not a single player on this SC roster that can stop her. TK and Jill are the X-Factors. Lets gooooo!

I forgot that last season, at home, we were actually up on them 19-10 at the end of the first quarter before eventually losing 73-60. Rickea led the way with 21 points. Striplin also had 11 points with three 3s. Cardoso only had 6 points off the bench on 3-9 FGs, but had 15 rebounds and 3 blocks.

In the SEC tournament, we again kept it close in the 1st quarter (down 21-19 - I recall Horston making a jumper that didn't count at the buzzer?) to eventually lose 74-58. Horston led the way with 19 points, and Rickea had 17. Hollingshead had 9 off the bench in 24 minutes (and she played 27 minutes in the first game, so she was a significant player in both matchups). Cardoso was big again with 13 points and 8 boards off the bench.

Different teams this year, but in both games we had 19 points in the first quarter but then only averaged 13-14 points in the remaining quarters and really struggled to hit shots once South Carolina made adjustments.

Key is still not back to the level where she was her junior year, but the last time she played South Carolina she had 10 points, 7 boards, and 10(!) blocks. Has ANY player been able to do that in recent years against South Carolina's front line? Boston, Saxton, and Cardoso combined for 10-25 shooting in that game, and South Carolina shot 32% overall. Yet we still lost 67-53.

The last time we beat South Carolina was at home in 2021 (75-67), led by monster games from Rennia Davis and Rae Burrell. Key had 5 blocks, and she's the only player still around from that matchup.

I’m so fired up for this game today.
I hear the doubt. I read the disrespect.
it’s go time.
Nice to have LVFL players come back and speak to the time about carrying on their legacy.
Rising up to their potential.

8-time Nat’l champions on Rocky Top.. scary hours🍊

8-time NC’s doesn’t intimidate.

Since today is Thursday, how about that big announcement.

The 8-time Nat’l champions on the BIG Stage! Elite tradition. We got next! Two McD All-Americans in Jill and TCoop. 2024 Elite 4-star defensive guard. Will Jewel Spear return? Will TK return? Will Destinee return?
The transfer portal opens soon!
Will Tennessee dominate the portal for a third straight off-season?
I stamp that🍊

In the SEC according to NET Tennessee is ranked 6th. Tennessee has 1 win over the 5th ranked team and went 7-1 over the bottom 8.

Tennessee has yet to prove they can beat any of the top 4 teams in SEC going 0-2.

with 4 of the last 5 games on Tennessee's schedule against the top 4 we will get the chance to see how they compare to the top tier in the final few weeks.

Tonight will be humbling.

SC - 92
Tenn - 59
