GAME THREAD: @ South Carolina, Sunday, 2/8, 3 pm EST, ABC

Fans need to stop bashing Kim on social media… recruits see that stuff and Coaches are taking digs at her because they are afraid.
Ah yes, this is all the fans' fault    I'm a fan of her, I like her, but she deserves the bashing she's getting right now after that joke of a press conference yesterday. When you are the coach that suffers the worst loss in program history, you are the only one who should be taking accountability after the game whether it's your fault or not.

Its a problem that coach is having to deal with because she needs the 3 of Cooper Barker and Spearman to win in March. Cooper lazy passes yesterday were atrocious she is much better than that. I just wonder if the 3 really know how much this hurts their draft stock because if I am GM I would not waste a 1st round pick on them at the moment.
Cooper's lazy passes and bad handles have been a problem her entire career as a Lady Vol. Not a drive and dish player either. In her defense, when she does drive other players usually just stand and watch instead of cutting to the basket to present themselves for a possible pass or to get rebounding position. She does things that make me say "wow" sometimes then follows that with a "what the hell" moment. She can be a stat stuffer or a no show, one never knows. In my opinion, she has much work to do in order to become a significant player in the WNBA.

Let me finish it for you. . . And doesn't have any idea how to fix it.

Thats the problem. Plus taking the public stance that she has no responsibility to figure it out.

Kim certainly deserves time to get on top of everything. But we really need to see her making an effort to do so. The current situation has gotten really exaggerated by the nature of the losses. We've never seen the LVs get blown out over and over like this and it's a shock to the system. I'm sure it's adding to the frustration of Kim and the players as well.
We’ve seen her take accountability before. I’m tired of seeing people saying she hasn’t. She has. Publicly a few times this season. Said it starts with her top down.. so everyone can drop that narrative real quick. Clearly those that say she hasn’t haven’t been paying attention. These players are getting paid a hefty sum now. It’s just as much their job to go out & do what their supervisor tells them to do. This fan base is always overblowing things. It’s YEAR 2! she overachieved in yr 1 & everyone was on her side. The first sign of struggle & everyone has their pitchforks out calling for her job. Year. Damn. 2. Chill out guys. If it’s still this bad in year 3 or 4 then maybe a different convo could start to be had.

The what the hell moment for both Coop and Barker:

Latham gets cooked and then casually jogs behind. Coop at least waves in the direction of helping, but actually does nothing. Meanwhile Barker actually extends her arms and shrugs, what me worry?, also doing nothing to help.

They are both so obviously talented, but the inconsistency of their focus and intensity is a mystery no one's been able to solve. No doubt W Scouts have noticed

I'm afraid that the fact that she once took accountability is not enough to offset the way she so stridently did not take accountability yesterday.

You obviously don’t understand the NB4 nature of VolNation fandom… 🤣🤙🏼😉😘🧡

Multiple times she’s taken accountability. If your employees kept screwing up no matter how many times you implored them to be better & do better, should you take the blame constantly for their incompetency?

& even if she did “take accountability” she’d still be getting roasted by all the “fans” in this fanbase… let’s be real.

I have heard multiple people who have been at games say Jenna appears to be doing more of the coaching than Kim. I certainly hope this isn’t true. I’ve not been able to attend a game yet this season but I’ve heard this from at least 3 different people. People who sit just a few rows up from the bench.

If you hand chose them for the job and are paid handsomly to manage and develop their output, then yes you should take at least a share the blame constantly. And certainly when the output is as big a disaster as yesterday's game was.

Regardless of when she's taken accountability before, her steadfast refusal to take any or provide any kind of solution now is the problem.

Vol fan forever. I know how ridiculous it gets. I promise. I’m just one of the ones that prefers not to jump ship when the waters get bumpy. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂
Yep. I remember avoiding the thread following Camilla’s 3 pointer. Lurked for a couple of days following Kellie’s dismissal. Best fanbase evar…except when we’re busy mandibilizing* our offspring…

She better go out recruits some players that can handle the ball and shoot. She needs to get at least three shooters.
It seems like she goes after players that are athletic and can run around and press, instead of players that can dribble, pass, shoot, catch the ball or make the extra pass.

We've had this conversation so many times on this board. Any recruit whose decision hinges on the things said here is not one we want playing for the Lady Vols.

Multiple record setting blowouts and the coach and players openly feuding is a dumpster fire
You are what your record says you are. 15-6 isnt a dumpster fire.

15-6 is not a dumpster but without a signature win yet with Top 10 opponents the record in a Power 4 and you're the Lady Vols isn't viewed as great, especially when you get your ssa handed to you 5x.

Other teams in the country might be good with this record but we shouldn't be.

I do agree with she has much to work on. I know why Coach is so upset because she was a intense super competitive player if her team was getting thrashed somebody on the next layup is getting hard foul type. Should she first say this is my fault I need to fix sure but that competitive spirit showed when she watched her team especially upper classman lay down. As far as Zone people saying her offense was not cutting it she explained to everyone we have a good Zone offense we have done good this year but nobody wanted to go inside and mix it up rather take the easy way out and shoot 3's . As a player and coach myself I was disgusted with the players except Mia she is a young freshman but is the indisputable leader of Team. Now I want to see who has any pride in themselves because they should want to come out Thursday and thump Mizz.

Everything we are doing is on her. Whatever she has to do to make this team better she has to do it. If she doesn't have five players she can depend on that was created when they made this roster. Could she just decide to resign the job cause you have to take the blame for what they are doing. If they are not following the game plan then they shouldn't be playing. If she can't coach them into doing it then why would she want to be the coach?
This scheme does not require players to earn their playing time and it shows. She needs to let them know that is changing. It will not work without shooters who can score the basketball. I don’t see take charge leaders either. She needs to put the best five out there and let them play. Hard to establish a momentum or to develop when they are jerked out every two or three minutes. CKC better make some changes and do it fast. Good coaches have already figured out how to defend her.

I agree, those coaches would have had a different solution. But, the players have to execute that solution. And if that different solution was not successful, the coach is held accountable.
I think top coaches make sure their players know how to execute the right solution. Good coaches make adjustments.

Recruits give an ish about 1 thing and it ain’t the coaching staff. If they cared, they wouldn’t show up late, they wouldn’t go rouge on the court, as she insinuated, they wouldn’t quit on the court. When are this contingent of fans going to realize it’s not 1997.
