GAME THREAD: @ Ole Miss, Monday, 1/26, 4 pm, ESPNU

Cora Hall with Know News:

Tennessee has three straight home games after its road matchup with the Gamecocks, which could be the most ideal stretch to make up the game. Rescheduling the game for Feb. 10 would be less of an inconvenience for Ole Miss. If Tennessee will have to play four games in a week regardless, the league may try to reschedule during the week of the Rebels' open date.

Maybe it’s just me but this made no sense to me.
Translation: They're going to make Tennessee go down there and play on a Tuesday, meaning that week Tennessee would play Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday-Sunday. They're negotiating whether it will flying the team directly there after the road game at South Carolina or after the home game against Texas. It's going to be poor timing for Tennessee either way.

Ugh.

Kim has to be pretty worried about tired players. It's going to feel like basketball bootcamp what with all the screwed up body clocks because of travel and quick turnarounds between games. We already had the most brutally back-loaded schedule we may have ever had, but now it's being made even more grueling.

Will Kim use the tiring pressure defense more sparingly?

I suppose there's always a chance that this stretch could turn out to be a magical time for this particular group of players and, instead of being worn out they're energized by it. That's not an impossible scenario. Kinda unlikely, but not impossible. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Would to prefer to go after we play Texas and before we play A&M at home.

A&M is not competitive and would be more like practice than a game in many aspects.

Having to cram a game between South Carolina and Texas with MIZZOU in there would be brutal.

Boom! 💥 we got the best of a bad situation. Wedged in between two home games.
Still a challenging stretch, 4 games in 8 days.

2/15 (Sunday) Texas
2/17 (Tuesday) @ OM
2/19 (Thursday) aTm
2/22 (Sunday) @ OK

Finishing up with:
2/26 @ LSU
3/1 Vandy

* SEC Tournament 3/4-3/8

Likelihood of going 1-5 over that stretch is high. I think we beat Vandy and A&M (easily), Lose to TX, OM, OK, and LSU.
