Game Thread: Lady Vols Vs LSU ; Sun Feb 9th ; Away game; 4 PM Eastern: ESPN

Kaelin Gilbert on why she gets motivated when she plays TN.

"I can say that they picked up the phone too late in the portal," Gilbert said when asked why the matchup with Tennessee is a good one for her. "I was kind of upset about that."
I hope she has an extra year of college ball because she's not that good. Gilbert vs The Pauldo Twins. It's going to end just like it did when the Pauldo Twins went against Blakes (Vandy), Fulwiley (SC), and Jones (NC State)!

Then you'll have to guard them!!

I do not like throwing any player under the bus, however Samara Spencer did not score in the loss to LSU. She scored 14 points in the win over UConn. She played approximately the same number of minutes in both games.
She forced the ball in the paint a lot of times when she should've shot the three. She can't really create for herself so that hurts a lot.

They will not have to do the heavy lifting with Cooper, Ruby, Spearman, Latham, and Boyd all returning. The first three have all-star potential if they continue to improve at the rate they have. I do think that the Freshmen that are incoming have mostly done quite a bit of all-star ball on top of being on good high school teams. They are so athletic and quick that they won't have as big of an adjustment to the speed of college ball as some do. Nevertheless, I imagine they will look rough at times but also show the improvement during the year that the above-mentioned players have. Even if none start, do you really think the twins, Civil, and Prawl as Freshmen will do worse in CKC's system as Freshman than Puckett, Jillian, and Darby. No disrespect to those players, but they don't fit the system well. I admire that they have stuck it out and do make contributions. I do agree that we do need a couple of experienced transfers to add to the group next year. I can't imagine we won't do well in the portal given all the results that Coach has produced so far.
Mia Pauldo will be ready day one offensively and defensively. Mya Pauldo will be the best on ball defensive guard on the team by seasons end. Jaida Civil is just another version of Talaysia Cooper. Deniya Prawl has a Tamika Catchings type skill level and Lauren Hurst is a knockdown shooter so we got some great pieces and this team will be extremely hard to DEFEND next season.

I don't like ricotta...
I have to tell you when I read your post I had to laugh because I realized that I really don't, either. 😂 I bought it for some lasagna when I was too lazy to make béchamel and it did fine surrounded by everything else in that context. But now I just trying to figure out ways to use it up. 😂 So I left it out. Thanks for explaining me to me.

I am excited that in the platoon system that we COULD have a twin on the court at all times. Some situational lineups with both, but seems like a good reason for winning the battle for their services.

The overall athleticism next year should work nicely with our returnees helping expedite getting the green off the newbies and maybe a couple of transfers of choice that benefit both sides. Have to think the results with this years transfers make it attractive.

The more FITS the merrier at our pace of play and with SOME experienced leadership rather than none early on AND after a lot of preseason work. For sure our recovery into half court defense should be better day 1 with more speed and twitch on the floor coming off beaten full court pressure.

can you imagine facing the same face for an entire game,,,especially an elite set of faces....gonna be fun

Yay "wonder twins"

It’s a transparent attempt to blame Kim for every bad call we get. And to claim to be superior to Kim, of course. I’m somewhat surprised that anyone bothers to respond any more. And we know the only reason he got off of most everyone’s ignore list.
100%. It’s why I won’t be on the game thread anymore.

Y'all know what I've noticed? Many of us, probably because of the "out of sight, out of mind" thing, are kinda forgetting what a great defensive stopper Kaiya Wynn had developed into last season. She had also finished last year beginning to get a feel for scoring. We were all excited about having her quickness and tenacity on defense, along with her experience, this season. Then she got hurt.

Anyway, I just wanted to remind everyone that if Kaiya comes back even stronger -- and I strongly suspect she will -- she's going to make us even stronger in Kim's system. I'm so excited to see how great the final season of her career at Tennessee will be. 🫶🏼

Rooster you are mad at me bc I called you out as a gamecock fan first and formost. And a LV fan second,,,It has nothing to do with that post

Orange,,,,I want Kim to bow up and defend her girls,,,,JUST ONCE! A team takes on the personality of its coach and if she won't defend them,,,they will shut down just like the prior staff's teams did...Its nothing about superiority. Hell, all coaches think they are superior. If they don't, they usually . . . Aren't!

You mean you want Kim to defend them to YOUR satisfaction. She stays on the refs. The demeanor of her players seems great, which would suggest they don't feel undefended.

Jumper always thinks more of his opinions than anybody else would. If he was as great as he thought he was, he would be coaching , instead of on here. I like alot what he says, just know where near as much as he does. Jumper just because you say it, doesn't make it true .

If Kim is "staying on the refs" she sure isn't getting much of a return for the investment in time. So many bad calls and no calls in the LSU game.. cost UT the win... imho

We're clearly not watching the same games. First off: the refs in the women's game may as well be using a magic 8 ball to make their calls. The inconsistency is ridiculous. Secondly, I spend as much time saying, "lousy call, but we'll take it," as I do saying, "No way!"
