They did lose starter Jazmon Gwathmey to the WNBA but return star Precious Hall, who averaged 20.8 ppg in 2014-15, from a torn ACL.

Sounds like this will be a good test for our Lady Vols to start the official season. I know they(JMU) had one heck of a softball team last season too.

Friday's contest is "...a battle between the winningest and fourth-winningest programs in NCAA Division I women's basketball history."

I didn't know that about JMU. From their website:

•JMU was picked to finish first in the CAA Preseason Coaches Poll.
•Redshirt senior guard Precious Hall was selected as the Preseason Player of the Year. Hall missed the 2015-16 season due to injury.
•Senior forward Da'Lishia Griffin was picked for the Preseason All-CAA Second Team while sophomore center Kayla Cooper-Williams received honorable mention.

A look at last season's schedule shows JMU was 27-6 with a 30 point loss to UCLA, a 7 point loss to West Virginia, a 14 point loss to Baylor, an 11 point loss to St. Bonaventure, and a 30 point loss to DePaul in the 6-10 matchup in the NCAA tournament. I don't see any signature wins.

I can't imagine the LV's losing but then I never imagined they'd lose at home to Virginia Tech last season either so who knows.

I do too, as JMU will take a bunch of three point shots. I also like the fact that meme isn't afraid to shoot the three ball. I also think that if Middleton would quit playing so fast and take more open three point shots, she would be a tremendous help to this offense..this might be a closer game than we all care for it to be

I agree, Middleton should come off the screens ready to fire. If she is open shoot it and I like that Jackson has that mindset (which is normally the case when you aren't use to getting in as much and you don't know when you'll see the floor again). I like that it isn't bad/forced shots from MeMe, so far they all seem to be in the flow of what the team is doing and I think her % will only get better the more she gets comfortable being able to take that shot. The more points we can get from our Main 4 (Diamond, Nared, Russell, and Reynolds) in a sense will only lighten the burden and the feel of Nared and Diamond that they have to do it all imo.
