Game Thread: #15 Lady Volunteers 4-1 vs Coppin St. 1-4 Sunday, 11-23-25 @ 2:00PM EST Knoxville, TN. SECN+

Was at the game this afternoon. Great game from Nya and Janiah. It seemed like Coop was having a so-so game, until you look at the box score--11 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists. Almost a triple double. And Coop had a ton of steals. Indeed, Coop also had a great game. Now, it is time to take down UCLA. GBO.

Go Lady Vols. Beat the Bruins.

Yeah her shot wasn’t here today but she still impacted the game in a ton of ways. That’s a sign of major maturity from her. An immature player will pout when they are shooting like that and stop doing other things but she kept after it.

Still think she was possibly playing with a light injury of some sort today. She really seemed to be holding herself back at times.

Possibly a touch of a bug. Hope not. Right now would be a terrible time for a virus to sweep through the locker room.

It’s actually almost like she’s is expecting MORE contact that isn’t coming. Just how it looks to me. A lot of those plays nobody is even touching her, she is just out of control.
Yeah if you're going to take it to the basket don't shy away take the contact and one. Can't fold under pressure learn to use it. Don't just look for the foul .

UConn has 1347 in 2nd place. And winning % is almost even as well. 80% for UCONN and 79% for LV.
I guess what's even more noteworthy is a lot of those wins came against top flight competition that Pat scheduled and the rigors of an SEC schedule. The 2nd place team played mostly cup cakes to get their wins.

Barker looking great today .. love her inside game and hustle.. Spearman and Cooper are better than what they are showing .. just seems like Cooper has no hustle in this game .. Seeing some good things from the Lady Vols though .. 🧡💪🏼🏀
Are you kidding?! 11 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists , and 7 steals. Seems a bit of hustle to me

Robertson showcased her excellence with her three-point shooting, yet at times, our overall performance felt disorganized and chaotic. It is essential that we address these inconsistencies. Furthermore, Cooper, despite coming close to a triple-double, did not seem fully engaged in the game. As a team, we have yet to reach our full potential.

We must also be more discerning in our shot selection, focusing on opportunities from the elbow and driving toward the basket. Our three-point shooting has not matched the level we achieved last season by this period of time. I attribute much of this to the caliber of teams we've faced, aside from NC State, and trying to work younger players into the mix. We are still throwing up three point bricks and being impatient.

However, we are still finding ourselves. I am confident that we will improve as we prepare for our upcoming games against Stanford and UCLA. We are still a work in progress, but better days are ahead.

i really enjoyed the game, which I do no matter the opponent as long as we give full out effort. I thought that we were close to this for the 2nd game in a row, so perhaps last game wasn't a fluke. I know that a few posters complained about how Barker was being used, but I have thought that the past two games have showcased her in beast mode. We will be a handful for teams in games in which we continue to play team defense, Cooper and Barker both play their A game, and at least one player gets hot from the outside. While we can't count of Robinson to normally be in the zone like this, she is more athletic and better in defense and rebounding than I thought she would be. I had a feeling that Mya would get to play quite a bit this year and so far, there is not much difference in productivity between her and Mia per minute played. I expect both will have some breakout games in terms of more assists and/or hot three-point shooting. The future is bright for our Freshmen, and I imagine they will learn so much this year from being able to play! For now, they will likely be on and off in terms of how much they shine in a given game but I do think their baseline for all of them should get better as the year progresses.

I agree with all of this except for Cooper. She was panting and sweating and catching her breath when she came out of the game. She was not that far from a quadruple double with 7 steals as well. I guess that sentence about despite being close to triple double she did not seem fully engaged could serve as an oxymoron.

The almost quadruple double was very impressive. I thought she gave great effort and made it look effortless.

Coach Jumper has left the building. (So sad)

Anyhow, I likely cannot make a game thread for each game. If any of our usuals would like to take on the task I would greatly appreciate it. I love the game threads and felt they suffered when he was making them as many posters had him ignored and would miss the thread. He only started making them because, after our longtime friend who made them passed, I started as nobody was doing it and he was DEEPLY offended.

I vote @LadyVol1908 😜

“Now why am I in it” *in my NeNe Leaks voice! 😂😂 I think you did a wonderful job this go around! You should have the job! 😂
