Without Hurd to pound it, what are your thoughts on Butch and crew running a less pound it up the middle offense and instead going high tempo plays in space kind of offense? Seems like this makes sense too with those DE's being so good. Quick release plays... Thoughts?

OR, is Kelly going to be the pound the rock guy?

The offense will not change no matter who carries the rock. Either Kelly goes through the tackles or AK will. Just hope that Byrd gets a lot of touches today.

I don't think we'll go for any more than the 90 plays that is generally our target.

I think the running game will surprise today. Kamara and Kelly are quicker to the hole and to the second level...an element we sorely need..

I've wondered for a while, (and let me first give a disclaimer that I LOVE Hurd - just what he's done for the program alone), if Hurd would have worked better in an I form offense with a fullback. I don't think we've even seen part of what he can really do... I think it's _possible_ that we'll be really good today because JK and AK are really a better fit in this style offense.

I think that the give up the middle to Hurd is a play built for him as a player, but not so much our whole offense. Quick stuff to skill players, run Dobbs, slants, rollouts, and a few big over the top throws wins the game I'd bet. aTm was built to stop Alabama primarily, so runs up the middle by big backs wouldn't be a strong strategy anyway.

Totally agree. I think AK and JK are better fits for this type offense and that's not a knock on Hurd at all..

This team inexplicably hasn't looked very good in their up tempo game this season.

I don't expect to see anything drastically different today in terms of game planning.

Hope DeBord proves me wrong because it's gonna take a great offensive game to win today.

They have looked good a couple times fast tempo this year, but when they start getting 10+ yards a play in up-tempo either the other team starts getting "cramps", or cbs decides to take a commercial break.

Kelly is more than capable of pounding the rock up the middle. Don't be surprised if he busts out with 100+ yard game.

I think we see Coach Jones true zone read offense today with the quicker backs.

to beat a line and pass rush like the Aggies, gotta use misdirection...screens over the middle, out in the flat...and some trickeration.. gotta find a way to keep them off balance....short passing game to get Dobbs some confidence...work the edges...Coach Debord is gonna try running up the middle to loosen up our guys and check our their D front, but just running up the middle probably won't work for long...and, as always...

GO VOLS!

This right here!! I'm amazed that teams are getting away with stupid crap. Teams have to resort to cheating to slow us down. So far it's worked but we've still won. Hopefully CBJ will talk to the refs before the game and this will be watched closely. Something is going to have to be done about this, it could cost a team a championship or bowl game.

Our success depends on if DeBord is already in the box.

if this is true then we need to cut a window in the door to slide food through, and superglue his door shut and his arse to the chair. Tell him he can come out only to do the same at the bowl stadium
