Hey all. On game day I used to park at the old Volunteer studios apartments at the bottom of exit 387. It was a little walk but it was awesome because it was on a light at the on-ramp for the interstate and dirt cheap. It was the easiest game day out that existed in my opinion.

Now that lot is gone. Anyone willing to share their favorite spot now-a-days?

Locust Street Garage is easy access back on I-40. $20. About .8 of mile walk to the stadium. 1 block from Market Square and Gay Street.

I pulled this info for you. Hope it's helpful...

Those are all the university lots that require passes and one $40 lot. Not necessarily what I’m looking for but thank you.

Keep up the suggestions!
Anywhere on 17th street near top of the hill. Or next to Barley's Taproom in old city and ride bus to stadium.

We always parked at a lot on the corner of 17th and Western. I'd guess it's probably $20 now, it was $10 growing up. Haven't been to a game since 2018 though, so I'm probably not the best source.

Just a heads up. As of now they aren’t cancelling classes for the Thursday night game. So if you are planning on tailgating keep in mind they probably won’t let you into parking until 5pm. It’s going to be a mess unless they at least cancel classes after 12. Good luck!

that's the way it was in 2016 for the App. State game. Faculty and students had our lot practically full. It really makes tailgating almost not worth the effort for no more than a couple of hours. JMO of course.

Probably better off going to a bar or restaurant to be honest. Parking on campus and UT lots/garages next Thursday will be a zoo

If you are only worried about cost there are some houses near Clement Hall that let you park in their yard for 10 bucks. My niece was living in Clement so my wife and I would park there so we could all walk over together. It is a pretty decent distance to the stadium but a pleasant stroll through campus.
I think the house I parked at was on White Ave if I remember correctly.

agree....we normally are avid tailgaters but for this one we will likely eat before we get there and just bring a cooler and chairs....just won't get there too early

We'll see. With Covid and the game, most classes will be canceled or moved online. Obviously that won't matter for parking enforcement, but they may open up parking early.

You might consider going to Sam & Andy's to get a sandwich, then to Farragut High School to catch the shuttle ($20 roundtrip) to the game.

I’ve talked to two students who have parking passes and they are being told to be out by three. That includes staff as well. Up to the prof if they want to cancel class or go virtual. I can’t imagine what a mess the garages are going to be

Catch the bus in Maryville. Foothills drop off and pick-up at basketball arena. 10 bucks. Leave the driving to them. In and out quicker than your own car.
EtowahVol, Can you give me contact information on catching a bus from Foothills/Maryville? This sounds like aa good option for me. TIA!!
