I will be getting to Knoxville early Saturday morning and am looking for breakfast suggestions. I used to go to The Varsity back in the day but I believe it closed a while ago. Doesn't necessarily have to be on the strip but downtown/ old city/ campus area. A good Bloody Mary would be nice as well. Any suggestions?

Dunno if the torch is still in biz, but that used to be a pretty good breakfast. i liked the pork chops and eggs they had.

Bistro By the Bijou downtown on the corner of Gay and Cumberland does a nice Saturday brunch and the bloody's are pretty tasty - FWIW

Calhouns on the river has excellent bloody marys. I typically have bud light for breakfast on game day so I would not be of any assistance.

I'd look into Copper Cellar's brunch. Not sure if the strip location does it, but the West Hills/Bearden location (on Kingston Pk.) does. Pricier, but great.

Edit: Might be a Sunday exclusive; if so, I'd second Long's.

Pete's Diner on Clinch? Downtown or Vic and Bills down on Broadway is good and I agree Longs is great too.

Breakfast at Pete's Coffee Shop on Union. Then, a Bloody Mary at the Downtown Grill & Brewery.
