'26 GA RB Amari Latimer (West Virginia)

If I had to call Latimer right now I would say Miami but we could still swing it in our direction. Going to be about the biggest bag. Weird that Ohio State just flipped a WR from us but won't pay Latimer.

By the way: I'm just piecing together the information I've been reading from people in the know. I'm not claiming to be in the know.

They had so much success in porthole lats year. Also just got a RB. May also feel good about DGG.

Gotta be the bama commit jj finch?
I feel like the most likely candidates would be Micah Smith or Dre Quinn.

AP said it was trending Vols for Quinn a couple weeks ago and then Chad Simmons reported he was closing in on a decision on Monday.

VQ said last week to expect a decision from Smith in the next week to 10 days.

Any of Quinn, Latimer, Finch or Micah Smith would be huge additions though. We desperately need some positive momentum after the flip of Bey.

I see us landing Smith, Latimer, and Carter.

The last remaining need is running back. Four-star Amari Latimer has been a top target the entire cycle. I think the Vols are picking up steam here. Miami is also in the mix for the Wisconsin commit. I did have a prediction for Ohio State to flip Latimer but I now give the edge to Tennessee and the Hurricanes.

Good call on that last sentence----insiders get their nads ripped off when their info doesn't pan out 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

Callahan has been saying we have a shot with Latimer but never that we lead, but he also doesn't like to say that regardless of what he might know behind the scenes sometimes. Smith is Micah Smith the IOL. It also sounds good for the JUCO DL and the top 247 EDGE who looks to be a DE.

247:

"He returned to Tennessee on an official visit the weekend of Nov. 1 to attend the Vols' game against Oklahoma, making his first trip to Knoxville in a little more than a year. Ohio State and Miami have been among the other teams battling for him in addition to the Badgers, who have Latimer's older brother — defensive back Geimere Latimer II, a Jacksonville State transfer — on their current roster. Miami and Tennessee have been at least cautiously optimistic about their chances of stealing the younger Latimer away from Wisconsin, but the Badgers got him back on campus last weekend and still seem to have a legitimate shot at holding onto him."

not to be critical but, whatever they're doing at RB recruiting at the high school level, may want to adjust it a tad.
