Ga finding out what playing Fla/Tn B2B is like

Just noticed Vols play Ga the week after Ga/Fla game. Finally the SEC makes Ga play big SECE games B2B. For years, Tennessee played Fla/Ga B2B. It’s a tough turn. Hopefully Tennessee has enough to make this hurt.

I still think we are 2 years away for having a defense that can compliment our offense. We have Auburn to thank for making Ga play Florida and Vols back to back as well.

Last year we thought we were 3 years away from having a winning offense.
Oh you mean when the new coach was hired and we all had our doubts but after the first season we seen what he could really do?

The pressure is more on our defense than our offense. In order for our defense to be good in the 4th quarter we need better players in the 2nd and 3rd string. It's a depth issue but it's more of a talent issue imo.

In case you missed it, the GA bulldogs showed everyone what a top teir defense looks like. I'm not saying we need that although it would drastically help as we all can agree too. What I'm saying is we are a very long ways away from that caliber. If we are 75% of what they did last season then we would most certainly be in the mix for SEC E Champs and a real possibility of making the playoffs.

We are getting depth first then quality players second. Your opinion on that may differ from mine and that's fine depth will always help with being fresh ( well fresher in the 4th quarter) than not. I just wish we got quality depth on every recruiting cycle is all.

Just because we were all shocked, doesn't mean that's all of the sudden the expectation for a defense lol. We lost two starting lineman, one of which was pro. That said, I have been thinking about our gaps. Both Martinez and Garner will have had a lot of their crew for two years. Juwan Mitchell coming back with Beasley who had 84 tackles last year is huge at LB. Secondary has some unknowns, but but I read we are actually deep there. Martinez has had a couple years with this group and Taylor was hurt a bit, so there is some experience. Add Hadden, this unit nah surprise. Old McDonald is sounding pretty incredible... So to your point, it could happen. Should it in year two after losing our best two DBs and our best DL on an already pretty bad defense? I have to keep my expectations and a minimum.

Probably won’t matter this year since gators aren’t a tough game. They will give up by then.

With their roster, I don't think they'll find it nearly as difficult as we did.

BULL SH-T!!!!
Over the last 35 or so years Fla. has been as tough as anyone out there. They may not win all the time, (neither do we) but they are always tough. There are some teams like that, one that comes to mind is LSU,, ALWAYS tough. No, saying Fla won't be a tough game is naïve. We could/should win, but not an easy game.

I’m talking about when they play South Carolina not when they play us. They will suck when they play south Carolina. Probably world beaters when they play us.

If the gators are gonna play anyone tough, it will be Georgia

Traditionally Florida goes in the tank if they lose to Georgia. That's how Missouri and South Carolina beat Florida more than us, they often beat them after Georgia has and Florida doesn't give AF anymore.
