Should be trashed until they decide to mix it up and throw the ball. Its simply a telegraphed run nothing more. Both formations lost yards on a few tries today. Eric Berry would be the only one I really want to see back there at all because he seems to make such quick cuts that he can get some yards out of nothing. Overall these packages are none effective and today were over used.

If anyone set in section H today I was the guy yelling "Run! They are running the ball!" every time we lined up in these formations, and sadly every time I was right

Ditto, GJ needs to stay out of the backfield. EB is the only one that needs to be back there. He might actualy pass.

and yeah i totally agree. idk why coleman wasnt in longer. he actually showed some signs of leading us down the field

EB should be the only one allowed back there, and he should be allowed to throw.

...that, or we put Creer, Hardesty, and Poole back there and direct snap it to them with Foster as a lead blocker.

Jones played QB in high school. The "G-gun" is more suited to his career thus far than WR. He didn't really ever play a snap of receiver until he got to UT.

I believe EB QB'd in HS too. Correct me if im wrong, and I'm sure we have some EB sperts on here. Has GJ thrown out of this shamfence? He has a better chance on dancing with the stars than being productive out of the backfield.

whether Berry or Jones played QB in high school is water under the bridge
there not D1 QB talent, or they would be somewhere playing QB, instead of reciever and safety

I don't know how much practice time over the year's been dedicated to the G-gun, or Wild Berry, but whatever it was would have been better served working on the QB development of Crompton, and timing between him and the recievers

Crompton could go 24/7 until he was 80 and it wouldn't help him with timing and receivers. He could maybe learn to get it into the stands though we could get some souvenirs and remembrances of his stellar play.

the sad truth is all these packages will never work affectively until we pass the ball. i am blown away that i sat at a game where we passed the ball 9 times ,the entire game. how long can this go on? if we arent gonna throw the ball we might as well run an option offense and get a QB in here that can run the ball, hopefully Tahj Boyd will be that guy...

Just heard it on Sports Sound Off, Fulmer, after the interception told Clawsen not to throw the ball again. Its official that we won't throw the ball against KY. Run, baby run.

what a shame that after 11 games a HC has no confidence in his OC, or offensive game plan

Jones threw a screen to Lucas Taylor in the Auburn game that would have gone for BIG yardage had Lucas not dropped the ball. And I think he trew once against N.Illinois.

he may be much better but GJ's throw looked absolutely awful

The thing to me is, its nothing more than a sweep play, with no other options. Why not use both Berry and Jones, with one coming from the flanker spot. One of the most successful plays was when Jones handed off to Cooper, he tripped, but there was a gaping hole. But, yes, until one of these guys burns the D downfield with the pass, it won't be as affective as it could be.

I see no problem with mixing it up like this. We have no threat of passing regardless of who is in the backfield. If we would have run the offense against Wyoming like we did against Vanderbilt, the Wyo game woud have been a win. The least amount of time we put the ball in the air (for the other team to catch), the better.

Though I do think think they need to try other options with EB and GJ in the backfield. Have one coming across the field in motion or something and run a read option kind of thing.

There just has to be an option on the play. Watch Pat White run it. There is an option of handing it off up the middle, then a pitchman option. We are just lining the QB up and running a sweep most of the time in the formation. Not going to work. Once again, horrible coaching.

Just like Vandy does with DJ Moore

We could run the Miami Dolphins Wildcat with Gerald playing Ronnie Brown and Berry playing Ricky Williams. That would work in my opinion. If NFL head coaches cant figure it out, what are college coaches gonna do.(Probabaly figure it out with our luck)
