#10 Florida, playing at home, (the SEC east champs) wins 9-7 with a late FG against Vandy. Does their coaching staff suck now?

#19 Texas A&M, playing at home, loses to an unranked Auburn by 16 pts. Does their coaching staff suck now?

#18 Ole Miss, playing at home, (the team that beat the mighty Alabama), loses to little ole Arkansas. Now Hugh Freeze isnt a good coach?

#7 Michigan St loses to an unranked and pathetic Nebraska team. All the sudden I guess their staff isnt any good?

#13 Memphis loses by 25 pts to an unranked Navy? Wow, after that, im sure the Memphis coach is going to have a tough time finding a better job. :loco:

#21 Northwestern only wins by 2 pts over an unranked Penn St team?


Bottom line is, it was ugly as sin but we got a Win. Butch made mistakes, the players made mistakes, and we still got a W!! It aint easy to get those W's. I'll take it.

A certain group on here think think the only coach that doesn't suck is Gruden. All UT coaches will suck unless and until Gruden is hired.

Gruden, Fuente, Herman, Saban and whatever that guy's name is at The Ohio State are all great coaches in the eyes of many in these pages... unless and until they become our coach and then they will suck of course.

No coach is perfect! The good coaches learn from previous mistakes and don't make the same mistakes again. Butch has not learned or refuses to change no matter the outcome of the game. That is why so many fans (myself included) are not confident in CBJ. I'm excited for the win,but from a coaching late in the game I was expecting a Oklahoma repeat.

I noticed those numbers that preceded each team. Seems Tennessee is missing one of those. Maybe it's because we keep making the same mistakesÂ…

But it is easy. Just ask any of the outstanding coaches here on VN. Their teams never get scored on, miss an assignment, or drop a pass. If fact they don't even give up a 1st down.

Simple examples; there are many other similar examples where neither team has "numbers"

Also true. Not much we can do about that now. Just gotta beat the teams in front of us



Hopefully we learn/grow and perform better next year against the good teams on our schedule

Oh, so there are many examples of non-ranked teams winning close games to bad teams. Your point makes total sense now.

Even old Chucky would suk on VOL NATION after the first year.:thud: I don't give a damn who is the coach you won't win the SEC every year in these day's of college football there is just to many good team's to do that the old day's of just 1 or 2 team's dominating are over, now we do have a good chance to go on a little run in the East it should be between us and Florida the next few year's the Dawgs are trending down so we got our shot next year to take the East title we run the table we finish second this year, so that is progress before someone reminds me we should have beat them this year i know but we very easily could have went down yesterday, some on here think we could bring Chucky here and win them all every year no we still would be a 10 and 2 team and maybe 11 and 1 every now and then, look at bama they got GOD as coach and every time they go down there fan base won't to fire him:eek:lol:I guess if we every get another old coach like Phil we might keep him here even if he is just a 11 game win's coach the Dawgs are fixing to do what we did and when they do i bet the recruiting get better in that state for Tennessee we already get good player's now think if they get another Jim or Ray there we will go in there and take over.

Most on here knew 16 would be the season to really see where we stand as a football program, when we run the table and win our Bowl winning 9 games think about the hype going into the 16 season but we got to back it up with a 10 regular season win team and East Champion which we can there will be no more excuses for next year we can't pull the youth card and maybe the Football Gods will give us a break the 16 season is the no more excuse team.:rock:

You know what's so Sad some on here really thought he might come here he has said over and over he couldn't deal with the youth he is a PRO coach only he wouln't last 3 year's as a college coach anywhere he would quit he isn't cut out to be a college coach he won't never coach again he has his gig on MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL he doesn't have to deal with the stress, we got our coach for the next 10 year's and his name is the BUTCHER like it or not he is here to stay awhile he will get us back to the top like the man say's it's a process :eek:hmy:
