With the commits and the types of players we are in on.....Our Defense is going to mean, relentless, and just flat out wanting to knock people's heads off. I love the type of players the D coaches are pulling in or close to pulling in.

we were number three in the nation in total defense even when our defense spent 90 % of each game on the field. I cant even think of how dominating our dfense will be. it will be ten times better than floridas two deep returning starting defense from this year.

I expect a little drop off next year but it should really show in year two. But theres no reason to believe we cant have a top 5 defense annually after next season.

I think our defense will give up more yardage in '09 than '08, but will force more turnovers.

Given the results of last year, it is a stunning testament to how bad our offense was that we had the 3rd best defense in the land.

Yes, we did have the 3rd best defense in the country statistically last year, but I thought overall the offenses in the SEC were just average last year. This helped skew some of the numbers our way. With that being said, I believe we will have a solid D next year, getting even better in about 3 years. Keep bringing in those big uglies!

We should be great in a couple of years. With Monte running the Tampa 2 however it is a limiting defense with regards to blitz packages.....relying heavily on the front four getting penetration.

The Tampa 2 is a "bend don't break" type of defense. We will give up more yards, but turnovers will be higher and points will be lower.

No ut's D won't be better than florida's, they are nasty. Stephen Garcia (the worst QB in the league according to most UT fans) passed on UT's D for 3 tds in a half of football before getting injured at the start of the 2nd half. If stephen garcia can carve u guys up, then maybe watch out for other teams who actually have offensive lines and good qb's

While UT's defense won't be better than Florida's, it will be top 10 this year easily. Idk how you think Garcia having a good 2 quarters in a single game on the defense, constitutes into the ability of the defense as a whole.....

Exactly. Florida gave up 31 to Ole Miss last year. I guess that makes them awful as well.
