Vandy Fan is eat up with butt hurt. Others likely will disagree but I think Vandy’s pitching is still pretty good but not as dominant from top to bottom as in recent years. We shall see as the season progresses. However, Vol hitters are so much better than Vandy pitching. Vandy’s Achilles heel is their hitting which Vol pitchers exposed big time. The butt hurt is they realize they are no longer the only top tier college baseball team in Tennessee and are in the process of losing that distinction. Total meltdown will come when UT wins its first National Championship. I laughed at the homemade sign someone flashed on Saturday night above their “Our State” banner which read something like “I could be watching WWE”. On the other hand, I have never been happier with what I was watching.

I thought Vandy had great arms honestly. That’s the most average they made our offense look all year. Now they don’t have a Kumar or Leiter so not sure they’re a championship team but I think they’re an Omaha level team.

Hitting wise I’m not sure if they’re actually bad. We’re one of the best in the country before us. Same with Ole miss (who scored 10+ runs on Sunday against Kentucky). I think the vols pitching might be so dominant that even the very good offensive teams can’t get much going.

The only team I remember scoring much on us was Texas and if I remember correctly it was the bullpen and even then it really was a bad error in the field that allowed some of those to score

That freshman that threw for them saturday could be really really good. He looked damn good getting out of the **** a couple times when his fielders let him down a couple times.

I hate to pick on Vandy. They used to be pretty good in BB, but like us in FB, seem to hit rock bottom and stuck there. We're coming back. I think it's great when an in-state school is a real rivalry in BB. But, when James Franklin started running his mouth as the FB coach, screw em.

Vanderbilt has lost three series this season. They aren’t as great as they think they are. Still have enough talent to make some noise in the SECT and NCAAT but they aren’t that great.

Vandy hasa good program and will go deep in the NCAA tourney. Yes they are that good. The SEC has UGA, Ole Miss and Vandy, Arkansas. Not to mention LSU and UF among others. Its a tough conference to get beat up in. I do not thibk some of you appreciate just how good this pitching staff and our hitting really is. We need work defensively but certainly people wouldnt be talking about best team ever lol. We have played some really good teams. Just something to think about

It's a marathon. Last year people said the same thing about them and they ended up in the final series for the nattie. Vandy has a history of being there in the end, and I wouldn't bet against them.

True, but he really has one pitch he relied on. The fastball. After they saw him once they started putting good swings on him and chased him early.

How deep in the season can these freshman go before their arms show fatigue? Not too worried with Tidwell and the other guy chomping at the bit, just curious.
