The officials DIDN'T blow it dead before the fumble though. Thats just an excuse they gave to cover their asses
This... I’d bet every dollar I have that ball came out well before any whistle was blown.
The refs made an epic mistake that proablaby costs us the game and a chance at a bowl and aren’t even adult enough to admit it.
The officiating is always garbage. We seem to always get screwed by the refs. If we were Bama in that game, guaranteed that play would have been reviewed and called a fumbleThe Officials blew it dead.
That was a clear fumble that probably could have shifted the momentum towards the good guys.
Either way, the officiating was garbage tonight.
Do I just have orange tinted glasses on or do the refs absolutely always favor the other team when it comes to things like that fumble last night? Seems like it’s been that way for years, not only do we never get the benefit of the doubt but we are lucky if we don’t get totally screwed... oh well.Refs are too “invincible” they need to start throwing out fines for obvious screw ups.
You’re going to have to take my word that I am giving an unbiased opinion on this. In fact, I was rooting for Tennessee.
They were never going to win on replay. It had to be called a fumble live and it wasn’t.
On replay, you never see the ball. You see a big mess and eventually a Tennessee man comes away with the ball.
And even live it was the same thing. I assume it was a fumble cause I think he was on top of a bunch of other bodies and not the ground. But, I really can’t see anything for sure.
If I were a replay ref, I would have ruled inconclusive and stuck with the call on the field.
I would have had to rule the same way if they called it a fumble on the field.

99gator, I thought so at first, but watching the replay closely, it looks to me that the ball comes out and hits Bituli right in the stomach as the RB is moving over the pile. Made sense as he never really secured the ball well enough on handoff.
