Good post. It amazes in the face of those kind of stats people dont want to acknowledge this program is in decline.

I wish the Fulmer apologists (i.e. U-T) would put some stats together to show us why anyone should believe this program isnt going in the wrong direction. Fulmer already has a worse win-loss record then both Battle and Majors had their last 7 years.

Not insults at all. Just stating the facts of the posters.

Truth hurts with you all.

How many times you all will come back with the tiring, lame "Anyone who doesn't like Fulmer isn't a UT fan?" question is really amusing.

I think the people saying that are the Fulmer supporters like yourself.

So how many years of decline are excused by an NC?

Personally, I think we wait and see who he hires as OC before giving up on him- we may get somebody who can supply the psychological skills and offensive adaptability he so badly lacks.

That said, you've got to at least acknowledge how serious our decline has been against teams of quality.

He doesn't want to debate facts, just hurl insults. That is what people do when they can't win an argument.

I am, memphis.

I have said before that we sucked this year and wow what a disappointing year.

But we also won 10 games in 2003 and 2004 so we are doing something right and our past before that even backs that up.

When we get an OC that knows what he is doing, we will finally give our D extra rest.

u have hit the nail on the head buddy. fulmer somehow has disguised these stats over the years. but they are coming to the forefront now.

The decline is 7 years long, not just 1, though. It includes some years with 10 wins, but the measure is how well you do in the big games against ranked opponents. There are alot of schools with our record against unranked teams.

What bugs me most is that the decline started immediately after Cutcliffe left; I really enjoyed despising him for announcing he was leaving right before our NC game. Still, the likelihood of him coming back- given that, apparently he knew how to handle Phil and add a mental spark- is the main reason I'm willing to wait for the announcement.

Let's hope our new OC will bring that spark.

Can't get much worse

It may surface that Coach Cutliffe was CPF's secret weapon much like Mazzone for Bobby Cox of the Braves. This season has be awful because it dashed hopes but I'm hoping it'll make the Vols come out fightin hard next year because they now know what it feels like to be a cellar dweller thats beat up, talked trash about, etc. And fellow Volnationers....c'mon remember we're all friends. The name calling and personal insults bring us all down, critsize the post not the poster.
