There's a new article on rivals that explains how Fulmer has a strategy about all the changes going on..
i cant read the whole article because i dont have a subscription to rivals, so will someone please help out.

all i could read was that he has a plan for keeping the kids and team together, along with recruiting tactics, so they wont have such a bad year in recruiting..

It is about the strategy of "staff recruiting" that Fulmer implemented several years ago that recruits become familiar with not just one coach, but a position coach, a coordinator, and the head coach.

It cites Ben Martin as an example. Cutcliffe recruited him, but Caldwell came in at the end and closed the deal.

It hints that this strategy may offer hope in light of the current coaching changes.

A good salesman does exactly that. Unless you can get a customer (or recruit) to buy into the whole package it will just not work out well.

With the exception of offensive lineman, which we already have several commitments, we are mainly recruiting defensive players anyway. Recruiting impact should be minimal this year. we will have to look at the new offensive's staffs impact on recruiting next year to see if there was any adverse effects.

I want to know his timetable for hiring the new coaches. Please, Phil, dont let this drag on and on.

He has previously said that he would wait until the AFCA convention in January to talk to some people. Not sure if that applies to all jobs or not.

What's the hurry?

We've got the players we need for next fall. Unless there's some monster DT out there who could contribute as a frosh, we're pretty much set.

The new OC needs time to prep for spring practice, but otherwise, we can wait for the NFL coaches to wrap up their seasons.

We're in a rather nice position.

I'd rather them hire the coaches quickly as well. The uncertainty is no doubt hurting with guys we are pursueing that haven't commited...

to summarize the plan:

1) Hold the current players hostage
2) Kidnap the recruits

recruiting is not going well at the moment, but we've traditionally closed strongly so Im wasnt worried about that until all of this coaching turmoil. The longer Phil takes the further behind we will fall.
