I thought this was interesting.

This Saturday, though, Fulmer will be in Neyland Stadium to watch Lane Kiffin make his debut against Western Kentucky.

"I'll go to the game and it will be hard," Fulmer said. "I will support those kids. A lot of those kids are still my guys, kids I recruited."

:eek:hmy:

I did not expect CPF back for a few years? Hopefully it will help him let go of the past and embrace the CLK era.

Wonder where he will be sitting?

He's bitter and wondering why he isn't still coaching the University of Tenn.

I would hate to be the one sitting next to him. Must be awkward.

Box seats with his family? I just don't see him out in any of the "public" seats. But who knows....we may see him buying from scalpers. :birgits_giggle:

How awkward would it be if he showed up in the locker room and expecting to run through the T?

I've done my fair share of Fulmer bashing, but I have to respect him for this. This is still his school and he's supporting it. When all of his recruits are gone he may never step foot in Neyland again, but oh well.

He is absolutely a great guy to get fired and still support the university as he has done. Even though he let the program drop, he still has a HOF record.

Good for him. Whether you love him or hate him, its got to be tough to be an outsider on something that you were the leader of for 16 years.

I'm glad that he's taking this step, he's not following the same path that Johnny did.

Pride/Ego vs. Love for school/players

Which one wins out? Would Fulmer be happier if the team went 5-7 this year or 9-3?

The thing i dont get is if Fulmer really wants to coach again why is he attending the first game of his previous employer after he was fired? Its so unprofessional and plays out like an ex stalking his last failed relationship. If he had "retired" then this wouldn't seem like a huge deal..

Kind of does sound bitter but at least he is coming to support the kids he built relationships with. That's pretty cool. Nobody should bash the guy for that. He genuinely cares about them as human beings.... what's wrong with that?

How is it unprofessional for him to sit in a press box?

You can't really compare this to the average job. Most jobs don't have the passion and entertainment value that BCS football does.

A better analogy is - wouldn't you still want to see your kids if your wife left you?
