I'm sure that if some recruit he had a commitment from signs with another school he'll point it out.

He will mention the Tahj Boyd to Clemson thing. He didn't wear orange on his ESPN gig.
I am sure he is keeping his "name" out there for future job openings. UT is paying him enough not to have to worry about money. It will be interesting to see his face when lemming points out what a recruiting staff UT has assembled.

Good for him. I wanted him gone but do appreciate the N/C and wish him well. I just can't kick a man when he's already down.

He's got $6 mil buyout cash from UT and he's working for pocket change on a recruiting show? What gives???

I wonder if Phil will say he has to watch the film before he comments on any of these recruits.

Phil will say UT may have had a top 5 class. If, he were still at UT. Even if he accomplished a top 5 class. All the talent would sit around and rot for two years. And, the talent wouldn't have been developed!

How in the he11 is he down? he got 6 million dollars to leave, not to mention the money he made during his tenure. Unemployment is approaching double digits, people are losing their homes but you have pity for a millionaire? My heart goes out to the families who have lost everything due to the economy. Not to someone who lost his job, played the martyr card to the fullest and walks away a millionaire. There are plenty of people in the working world who had as much tenure on their respective job that are now jobless and not millionaires.

I agree. I'll also add it's hard to feel sorry for a guy who practically calls the entire fanbase stupid for wanting more.

He wants the exposure, a big ego booster for him.

Honestly though if he doesn't get another coaching job what's wrong with him being on TV? It isn't like the man is on his last leg of life, and those sports shows seem like pretty cushy jobs for the retired player/coach. I see it as him trying to remain relevant while at the same time finding something else to do with himself now that coaching doesn't appear to be an option.
