Fulmer to Iowa St?

He could recruit out there and probably have a good run in the Big12 North

Recruit to Iowa State? Come on. And where would those recruits come from? Iowa isn't a hotbed of football talent. Fulmer wants a job with a loaded team where he can get his self-esteem back and say (like Jessee Jackson), "I am somebody."

As an Oak Rdige Alum I can say that they won't be happy beating clinton every other year...they expect that every year. Oak Ridge followers have about the same expectations as do Tennessee fans, however realistic that may be.
And as a Clinton alum I say go Dragons!:)

Im a Fulmer fan but he is not a program builder. He would not have had the success he had anywhere else.

If Fulmer goes to Iowa St. or anywhere that winning is difficult to say the least, will that tarnish his image at Tennessee further if he fails miserably? I think Spurrier has certainly put some rust on his reputation with the USCe gig. CUM isn't helping the Ole ball coach any while he out does everything Spurrier did either. Fulmer will only damage his rep more unless he can be successful somewhere else. I wish him well, and I wish him the best....but sometimes you just like to remember the good parts.....

No Johnny Pitt II please.

Step off, Clone-

By 'last game' do you mean the 55-0 barbecuing of the golden gophers.... or was the 'last game' to which you refer the 17-5 embarrassment of the cyclones in Iowa City?

Empty shirts my a$$ I wear my 'Herky is my homeboy' t-shirt every football saturday (under my Tennessee orange, of course).

You are really pimping a 17-5 win over a 2-10 team at home? I guess that was one of your better wins:birgits_giggle:

McCarney won 7 or more games in 5 of his final 7 seasons in Ames. The Cyclones played in a bowl in each if those seasons. So much for your theory.

If memory serves correct, Dan McCarney also holds the distinction of being the only head coach to elect to play offense after winning an overtime coin flip. Naturally, Iowa St. lost the game.

That's some obscure stuff right there, and it may have changed, but I remember reading an article about it a few years ago.

Fulmer aint goin' anywhere. He's going to "take time off and reflect" - like he said in the press conference the day he was fired.

It turns out to have been a really bad PR move to offer the outgoing coach $13k a month for "alumni relations" at the same time that the university is having to get rid of, you know, actual professors and programs due to budget cuts. Fulmer had to "decline" the offer.

IOWA - the state where the birds fly upside down 'cause there's nothing worth sh*tting on!

Cross Iowa St. off the list for Fulmer. They hired Auburn's DC Paul Rhoads.

Good grief! Give it a rest! Foolmer is a failure and I don't see any school wanting him to downgrade/destroy their program with arrests, felons, gangsters, drunks, no discipline whatsoever, etc, etc. He is bad news incarnate and it would yield dreadful results for anyone wanting him to come onboard.

You are correct. Great HS football talent in state of Tennesee....what a joke, He won with Coach Majors Talent.....another joke. He stabed Coach Majors in the back...... the same group that sent him to the bench, handed him the knife when Johnny was the Coach. He was not a failure.:peace2:
