Fulmer struggled against Saban, Meyer, Spurrier

I'm curious how many would be okay if Butch stays at Tennessee until 2029. Winning 74.5% of the games.

During that time he wins nothing (division, conference or National) until 2018.

2018 Sec Champ
2019 Undefeated, SEC and National Champs.
2020 nothing
2021 nothing
2022 East Champs
2023 nothing
2024 East Champs
2025 East Champs
2026 nothing
2027 nothing
2028 East Champs
2029 nothing

Winning 75% of all games is very good. I believe Butch would be able to stay that long with that record.

I've got no beef with CPF we won a NC.

To be honest I want more. I'm thinking a Pat Summit type run, she is the gold standard for coaching expectations.

Count me in.

If Jones wins 75% of his games, has a collective winning record vs Georgia, Florida and Alabama, wins 2 SEC titles which means he'll very likely/almost assuredly make 2 final 4 playoff appearances, has a magical undefeated season and wins another national title for Tennessee.....and plays in 4 additional SECCGs....hell yeah, I'll take it for sure after the garbage we've all endured as Vol fans since 2008. All day every day.

There will certainly still be fans that would be disrespectful and hate on him like so many do now to Fulmer...but not me, no way. I'll gladly take your scenario and be one happy little Vol fan. Just promise me that when you fire Butch in 2029, that you don't bring in a complete asshat like Kiffin or Dooley.

Not a bad measuring stick but I wouldn't start the clock until this year...talent wise, Phil had 15 or 16 players drafted from his first three teams - Butch had had three....you can't ignore that they started from far different points in terms of talent..

Phil recruited a lot of those players..

Once...at LSU...and never again...especially the SECOND time in the same season when the stakes were highest. :pinch:

There are 4 coaches in that have beaten Saban twice. Miles got him three times. That is it.

And you have to admit, Chief had one of his best days a defensive coordinator in that 2001 title game that Fulmer lost. Cut was a machine that day as well. Bradie James just blew up another play.

Yes, I have to admit that. We had a NFL caliber DL with future Pro-Bowlers Haynesworth and Henderson at DT...stopping that backup QB and that keeper on every other play was just too much to ask. :pinch:
