The Vols are 83-39 (51-26 SEC) since January 1999, when they defeated Florida State in the first Bowl Championship Series national championship game.
UT is 27-19 (15-14 SEC) since the start of the 2005 season.

All i needed to see right there.

Yeah I heard some former Vol players say today people in the media and fans who want Fulmer gone are no fans at all.
If I was a Vols football fan I wouldn't want to except the play I see from the Vols each week and say it's ok.
Actually those people who are ok with what's going on are the one's who arent true fans.
When a head coach is to stubborn to make changes on the staff, or make changes in the way he does things when things are not working...he needs to go.
Take it from a life time Steeler fan, when Knoll was in his final years...the man keeped trying to do the same things he did 10 years ealier with less talent and failed big time. He left, Cowher came in and within two years had the team in the playoffs and than contending for title's.
If Fulmer stays good luck.

You can take it or leave it. I own a barber shop and talked to someone very close to CPF. Told me off the record CPF will retire at end of season . This is someone who talks with CPF almost every day and they spend allot of time together . He is someone who would know for sure. You can believe it or not but he isn't the trainer or my brother in laws cousin who's a janitor at UT , Hes a very credible business man.

I'm shocked to think that any level headed Vol fans would even contemplate the reprise of Phil the Mediocre next fall. Our boys will lose one more game this season (probably this Sat.) to leave Tennessee 6-6 for the regular season. Under this, Phil can't get another year tacked onto his contract and he's probably gone. If he returns next year, eight wins (and another season tacked onto his crappy contract) is almost assured with the returning talent.

A loss to Darth Visor will not be all bad. 6-6 will get the Vols to a middling bowl like the Liberty or Music City. It will allow the new coach the NCAA approved 3 weeks of practice leading up to their bowl game (they will need this). The strong recruiting class can be salvaged by a strong hire at HC. The recruits know that there is little talent in front of them and, that with the right HC, most could probably start for Tennessee in their freshmen year.

The hiring of Dave Clawson was supposed to bring a more wide-open offense. Phil had full autonomy last winter to "choose his man." Coach Fulmer purposely chose a man who personality-wise and ego-wise was much weaker than himself. Phil has over-ridden many of Clawson's calls this season with questionable results at best and headscratchers more the norm. Dave Clawson will probably become the proverbial sacrificial lamb to save Fulmer's skin. Phil knew this hedged hire would work to his advantage no matter how this season played out. If the offense was successful then it looks like a genius hire and if it failed, well, it wasn't Phil's fault.

Vol Nation, this is our best opportunity to reshape and redirect a once proud program that has fallen into disarray and malaise. The further the powers that be wait, the further our Vols fall behind in the SEC arms race. Please, for the sake of our beloved program hope, pray, and say, "Phil must go!"

I completely agree. If we don't get rid of Fulmer now it will never happen. Retaining him after this year would prove to everyone that TN doesn't give a flying poo about the program anymore.
