With no fanfare, little or no media coverage, Phil Fulmer cleaned out his UT furnished office at Stokley sometime this week----evidently in the dark of night. I saw one mention as a byline on another football article. I never understood his having an office in the first place, but I don't blame him for getting the "heck" outta there--considering all the players' comments about their love for CLK and the new staff. God bless you Phil, I think you finally got it.:salute:

How about welcoming Kiffin to Knoxville? That would be the next step in the right direction.

US Presidents transfer power more gracefully.

I could only guess he wanted one b/c he loves the university and didn't wanna let go. But defiantly a good decision to get out.

I wonder if he hung around partly because he thought he might be needed after all? Like, he thought the team would fall apart without him.

I wish him well. Heard he is going do do some radio with Doug Matthew's show during the season.

I don't think Phil will ever accept the fact that the Vols can move forward without him. No one is bigger than the program, not even Phil.

What is it on the radio dial so that I do not accidentally come across it when I am driving into town for the UCLA game?

Wouldn't surprise me. He's a good man, but sometimes too arrogant for his on good. It was pretty obvious when everyone could see the decline in the program but him.

Or maybe since he has a street named after him he figured----------Phil did some great things, but I am kinda glad he didn't break the General's all time win record. :mf_surrender:

Correct, hat. I am not a Fulmer homer, but I do appreciate what he did for UT, but it was a long time coming. It kind of seemed like getting divorced, remarrying, but yet your ex stills occupies space in your basement...............

I'm actually glad Fulmer will be working with Doug Matthews. The idea of putting all the petty, outdated former UT staff with Vanderbilt ties in one place makes it easier to avoid them.

The office has been vacated for over a month. It was adjacent to the Sports Information office and the space was needed due to the merging of the men's and women's SID offices. The new resident moved into the office three weeks ago.

It wasn't reported because nobody had asked until now.

No, He's been avoiding them like the plague. I'm sure he hates to see life go on without him, especially with all the buzz around this team right now, even after a 5-7 season. He is still a UT Legend in my eyes and I thank him for what he did for the university. Good luck "workin' like heck" Phil!

:)

I liked CPF but also agreed that the time had come for changes. I just think all the hatred for a man that devoted his life to the Vols is ridiculous.

I don't dislike Phil but there was no need to hang around for 6 months.

He's got plenty of money and lots of free time. No need to get in the way and make it harder for people to let go of him.

I don't think he realizes how much harder he made it on himself by acting the way he did towards the end.
