It’s not a coincidence...

New era in Vols football. Happy New Years all!

The Titans offense reminded me of another Tennessee offense. Just can't remember who.

Lost to Wyoming at home with superior talent.

That was after all the injuries, the losses to FL, UGA, and BAMA, and then his firing. The whole team lost heart after the announcement of his firing. Haslam and Hamilton created a mess of epic proportions in their handling of the situation... kinda like Currie's coach search - ha-ha... puke. And just like Currie, Hamilton would listen to no one but Big Jim.

Now, with the Pilot & Crashing-J legal troubles and the his connection with Currie's "Butched" coach search... hopefully... Big Jim will be seen messing around the UT sports complex much less often. I mean, come on, take a look at the success of the Cleveland Browns since the Haslams purchased the team... and tell me that the VOLS need their owner's "expert" football advice. Fulmer will not be Big Jim's lap puppy like Hamilton, Hart, and Currie were... and he will support our coaches and players at a level not seen on the hill since Dickie left for greener pastures.

GO AD Fulmer... GO HC Pruitt... GO VOLS ! ! !

Love all the revisionist hogwash being peddled in this thread. Fulmer needed to be fired in 2008. Two losing seasons in four years, a decided drop-off in level of talent and the imminent rise of Saban, Meyer and Mark Richt necessitated change. The mistake was in hiring a new coach (Kiffin) and basically giving him an open invitation to leave ($800,000.00 buyout) as soon as his dream job came open.

Now, almost a decade later, Fulmer is selected to be the A. D. and to be the man to resurrect the program he put in the ditch as a coach. Hope he succeeds.

How in the heck was he ever let go in the first place.

I couldn’t agree more. I have been a holdout for the past eight years believing that given the right opportunities that He would right the ship. But VOL NATION needs to look forward and forget about what we can’t change. Let’s hope Tennessee learns from the mistakes made and not repeat them. GBO

after he was fired. Fulmer's players loved him and were not happy. He would have been fine if they let him be, and then he had Petty and Tahj Boyd coming in to help with the Clawfense.

That's a cheap shot. The Wyoming game was after the announcement of his termination. Team had nothing to play for. Fulmer may be guilty of having lost a step or two but that loss is on the Admin.

Okay. Then the rest of the 2008 season before he was fired, 2005, and 2002 were truly horrific years. Years in between that post 2002 were mediocre at best (please don't talk about the East titles - we were far from dominant).

If everyone loved Fulmer so much, why didn't you start a social media effort to hire him back? All it would of taken is just a little push and Phil would have appointed himself coach!
