I hope that fat piece of trash gets him a job at a second rate school so the questions to him will stop concerning UT and start concerning his running a second program into the ground...

The Clapper needs to go back to Winchester and buy a farm since he is so good at spreading manure.

Sports writers must have the easiest job in the world. Just dig up some month-old quotes, and xerox old articles, and just republish them whenever the situation fits.

Not to mention take any quote and use it however you wish. Leave off the last half, etc.

Just play the damn game already!

If he really cares about the program he'll stop with this crap.
have you not heard that the man bleeds orange?

He's been a vol forever and dedicated his life to UT football. Forget that he has been paid a king's ransom to do an awful job, he freaking gave his life to this program and he puts the team above all else. His comments have just been taken out of context.

It's simple people. When Lane starts winning, the questions to Fulmer will cease.

that "fat piece of trash" as you call him brought the first legitimate national championship to knoxville in my memory (and i'm eligible for social security). i was of the opinion it was time for him to go, but he'll always have my respect, admiration, and gratitude for what he did.

he stumbled ass backward into a title that Rodney Garner's recruiting brought him.

I thought this was going to be a lot worse than it was. I don't see anything wrong with him saying that. He was just stating the fact that the SEC is tough and if you're going to talk, you have to back it up.

I did like Brando's comments at the end. I think he hit the nail on the head.

I'd like for one of the mouth spouters in this thread to debunk anything Phil was quoted as saying the article.

If CLK doesn't turn the ship around by the end of next season, most on here will probably be telling him to shut the hell up. We fans are kinda fickle ya know.

He's sniping at you from the grave at this point.

If Fulmer does commentary on this game, he is going to take some serious pot shots at Kiffin and the outrage on this board over that is going to dwarf reaction to the game itself.

It's not about what he said. It's about the fact that he keeps saying it.

If anyone wants to pretend that the oaf can't simply avoid the mike or this particular conversation, you should assume them dumb as all hell.

He wants this attention and it's as selfish as possible, but some people keep throwing out there that he bleeds orange and is all about the program. Get real.

You can't blame him for being a little negative....can you imagine being with a company for 20+ years, being relatively successful and being replaced by a 34 year old....weather anyone wants to admit it or not Phil was a good coach and Tennessee wouldn't be where its at now if not for him.........if he truly loves the university he just needs to swallow his pride and give some support, its not like Kiffin got him fired, he did that by becoming comfortable and lazy.

Phil never said anything he had to back up because he was too intimidated by Meyer and Saban. Those two guys had their way with poor Phil, just like Spurrier did at Florida.
