Fulmer is still in a "painful state"

 Poor baby. Has to spend his millions while terrorizing buffet lines. Tough life

I think the pain stems from the fact he(Fulmer) can't get a job. He has a NC and still no one is hiring him. That's gotta hurt.

Even Vanderbilt won't have anything to do with him. Brings in the worst of society, if things don't go as planned can't come up with a scheme, has to have vastly superior talent to overcome coaching flaws and the worst disciplinarian ever to walk UT's sidelines. NO ONE wants that at their school.

It hurts because he coveted a record that his "beloved" University would not let him meander his way to with 7-8 win seasons.

That, and maybe getting laughed out of the office by the likes of Louisville and Kansas lets him know what his reputation really is.

It really is a shame we still bring him up so much.

But damn nothing starts my weekend off better than bashing Fulmer.

I understand being upset, especially after winning a national championship. You would hope to finish your tenure a little better than a losing season and a pink slip. With that said, he had to see it coming. People were calling for his job for quite some time. He would have had to ignore the outside world for years to have not known people were displeased with the direction of the program. Mike Hamilton rightfully made the call.

We did not bring him up. Dooley and Rucker did.

I meant more along the lines of the entire University and its fan base as well.

I will always bash him when the conversation goes that direction or when the state of the program is brought up.

Bash the source. He's the source.

I'll never understand why some people relish in attacking Fulmer. Why can't we just let it go (and I know this was started by rucker's tweet about a Dooley quote, I just don't get the continued animosity)?

He had an opportunity with the Kiffin defection to be a rock and a sort of emeritus coach figure for the program. Instead, he's too busy being hurt... Too bad.

He's the reason we're where we are today.

As long as the program is mired in mediocrity, I see no reason to let it go. Even then, I'll probably still do it just because pissing off Fulmerites is fun.

I'm sure it's real painful to walk out to the mailbox and get that fat buyout check out of the mailbox.

Much, much more thankfulness he is gone than animosity.
