I realize that this is a wild and unfounded theory but what about the rumors of Fulmer assisting with the o line this past week? Could it possibly be part of the seemingly radical turnaround in performance? I know that it was quickly stated that he could not legally assist in coaching but who knows what advice he could give behind the scenes? If there's one solid credential that that CPF has it would be as a solid o line coach. I know he's not some miracle worker but he's probably coached as many guys that went on to be great linemen in the NFL as anyone in CFB. Anyone have similar thoughts that could explain such a rapid turnaround?

Well... together Lewis and Clark found the Pacific Ocean... I looked it up. So, if Phil and Coach Pruitt can work together, they will find Atlanta, soon.

He can't coach the o line. But, he has the ear of the o line coach. He loves Tennessee football to much not to weigh in on that subject in particular. I have no idea if Friend is listening. But, I'm sure it's been discussed.

I would buy fulmer a double buffet at Ryan’s or Golden Corral. Or any food dispatch system that launched calories into a 10 win a season coach a year. Idc how a coach is if they can get players in here that give their all to UT. Let’s go Pruitt.

I think I saw his fingerprints on the offensive line for the Charlotte game. :) He is the athletic director so - but I did hear that he laid his hands on Chandler's injury and healed him spontaneously, and also that he said a prayer right before the end of the half ( draw your own conclusions ). I know all of that to be fact but there is rumor that he might have also forced a fumble and a couple of interceptions strictly from his steely gaze staring at the Kentucky team from the sideline.

I say, if CPF had anything to do with these guys getting better, then I'm all good and happy with his efforts---as long as CJP is cool with it.

No I don't have any similar thoughts. Coach Friend is a very good OL coach. It all boils down to who wants it the most in this day and age.

I'd sure listen and do anything my boss's boss "advised" me to do - if I wanted to keep my job.

I could be way off but as AD his contract would spell out all responsibilities for which he is compensated. If he was "coaching" ie advising that would be free of charge. Wouldn't that fall under the Bama category of unlimited interns/advisers to the program?

We have a few guys that I think are going to be good OL players for us. Carvin and Niehaus are getting better. We need those five star OL players were recruiting the line could be much improved next season. OL and DL is where we have to get it done I think skill players are comparable to any SEC team except Bama and maybe Ga.

I agree with you as far as coaching them. Just guessing but any coaching staff would be crazy not to take advice or ask him things if they are having trouble with an oline. I'm sure any AD at any school gets questions asked and gives advice when they have his knowledge and experience.
Fulmer's influence on the OL is totally overblown.

If we’re lucky it’s not Fulmer at all, rather almost a complete season of actually being coached by real coaches. If Fulmer has to help coach behind the scenes then we are in trouble.

I'm sure ADPF is at the practices and confers with the coaching staff from time to time. But, I think this bump in performance had more to do with both the current staff and the players finding the right rotations and the right positions for the available personnel, the line gelling as a unit, and just a little bit of hard work with some meticulous preparation.

It almost seemed like the lights came on in their heads, and they were all on the same page for a change. Learning is fun when winning (big time) goes along with it. Our boys are buying in and it’s a beautiful thing !!!
