Chavis. Although getting rid of him would be a an improvement but he is not the problem at least for this year.

Scape Goats to date. Randy Sanders, Cutcliff (I know he left for Head Coaching jobs but he was never gonna be HC here as long as Fulmer was here), Trooper Taylor. More??? yes when you step down into the ranks of the Other Assistance head Coachs.

Clawson could be a scapegoat but should not be because he has not had the time to establish himself as one.

Face it the overall program is in disarray and it is because of coaching and the lack of Coaching UP

Who is the next ScapeGoat. There are none left. zero.

Its just a matter of time that all this finally comes to a head.

Some Boosters that created this high paying job are not willing to financially support the buyout. Identify the problem and fix it. Kinda like Wall Street they created this problem but walkaway from their mistake of throwing the bad money into the mix that created the problem to fix it.

I honestly don't think Fulmer has any scapegoats left.

Fulmer is not an idiot. He's figuratively a dead man walking, and he knows it.

Aww heck, I hate to do it but my quarterback didn't learn the plays we asked him to. Not only that, John Chavis is one heck of a coach but he's not gettin' it done on defense. I said before the season that Dave Clawson would need some time to adjust to the SEC and the other new coaches Scott and Drayton are learning the campus. Basically what I'm sayin' is that it's not my fault, look.....I would resign if I felt I couldn't get it done but gosh dangit I got a national championship. Don't forget were playin' without our star punter which is a big part of my game plan. Give me another 10 years, if I don't win the dang SEC championship by 2018 than I will agree to raise my 8 win expectation in my contract to 9 games.

Just by the way Fulmer let it play out. I was not a TT plan but Fulmer may have used his departure as one of the problems gone with higher ups. Fulmer is full of excuses and blames others for mistakes and only takes responsibility for failures when there is noone else to pin it on. Deflective Responsibility and Accountability.

if it bought more time for him he used TT as a scapegoat.
again I felt TT Should go there are players that didn't and TT's power play for OC with Fulmer failed.

Chavis are you for real
Did you see his D held Flrida to 10 second half points and only gave up 7 points to Auburn

The offense gave up the other 7, and it's the lack of offense that's cost us this year

clawsons offenses havent done squat so far....it's one thing for them to produce moderately and say he hasnt had any time to establish himself, but it's another thing if they start off god awful

Well I have to disagree here...Chavis and our defense have been one of the few bright spots in this season so far....I think they deserve some credit for that

the way taylor's leaving worked was (he wasnt fired) that he wanted to be the offensive coordinator, noone felt he was ready to do it alone, and so he took the co-OC job at Ok St.

Chavis should have been let go a long time ago.

Look at the defense in the AU and UCLA games where we laid off the receivers 10 plus yards. Chavis now as a defense not by his making but by talent. Our front Four on Defense has sucked for several years.

Florida never went into their playbook deep. on a 3 and 13 they got 30. I would never use that game as an example of our defense because of their special teams play.

Can't blame Clawson and the new Coaches he was Fulmers pick and he needs at least 3 years to change the offense and recruit for the program. In case you did not realize Recruiting is head down the tubes do to a lack of Coaching leadership. Read this board. Fulmer will use any excuse he can to hold on. I can't wait to here the next set of excuses.

Bottom Line: We are not competitive in the SEC anymore. Some lower teams have passed us by while we have been asleep at the wheel. We
accepted excuse after excuse as fans. We are getting to the point that we owe CPF nothing but he is going to burn the stick down to the end.

I not buying this. He holds onto his job by shifting the blame and responsibilities.

The defense is playing good this year but I dont think its b/c of Chavis. Ut's D is really fast and athletic and most are highly recruited players. Anyone with half a brain could coach them. Where was Chavis when our secondary was giving UCLA's receivers a 10-15 yard cusion. And the on the 3rd and 5 at the end of the Auburn game, we needed one more stop to get the ball back in good field position, and our corners were playin off like it was 3rd and 20 ten seconds before halftime.. Why would they be so worried about getting beat deep??? A first down ends the game so their is no difference in a 5 yard pass for a first down or an 80 yard TD. That falls on the coaches and the D coordinator especially since he makes the calls. I go to every home game and see so many more plays just like these that you don't normally see on tv. I could go on all day. It makes no sense. I say fire everyone but clawson and at least give his Offense a chance with a decent to good QB b/c if we can move the ball with crapton against UF then just think what UT could do with a great QB.

funny I don't see any of those folks as being a scapegoat-believe to be a scapegoat you have to get fired or singled out by the HC and since that did not happen they probably aren't....and frankly I don't remember CPF firing anyone.

Besides Sanders, he also fired OL coach Jimmy Ray Stephens and WR coach Pat Washington after the '05 season.

Sanders resigned after SC game, so technically not fired.

If had been up to Fulmer JRS would still be coaching the OL....it was Cut that said he had to go which was the correct decision. Not sure about PW.

It sure was a good career move for Taylor not to be the our OC this year. He would be catching a lot of flack right now.

I read over at the RockyTopTalk blog about a story on which Majors basically commented that Chavis is responsible for saving Fulmers butt.

I think u gotta give our new o coaches some time to get the new offense in ,BUT that doesn't mean that they can't block,run,and catch.
