Fulmer commenting on Foster on his show today

Foster is a good back. He's a solid, not spectacular performer, and unfortunately for him his most memorable plays have been against SC in 2005, against PSU last year in the bowl game, against Florida this year, and against SC this year. All fumbles. He needs a couple of signature long and/or tackle breaking, and or game winning runs to swing popular opinion more to the overwhelmingly favorable side of the spectrum.

That being said, he's a good kid who plays hard for Tennessee and I love him for that.

He can break the record as long as they put a disclaimer on it or something. Foster doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Henry

Yeah, hopefully Arian won't have to pay child support for 7 kids and get a year suspension for making poor decisions. Travis ran behind much better o-lines than foster has. Not discounting what Travis did but it seems that he fumbled in some key situations as well.

And he had a key fumble vs UF & fortunately for Foster, Fulmer now teaches offensive linemen to run after Foster, so they can recover the ball when he fumbles, a al the South Carolina game.

the fumble against florida wasn't his fault. it's very difficult to take a handoff to the shoulder pad.

foster is a consistent runner who's gonna get you that 3-8 yards a carry. i'll take that anyday over the homerun guy who gets 1-3 yards a carry a breaks one every 3 games.

For the record, I think Arian has really shown a lot of development. He obviously worked out hard in the off-season and is hitting the holes with authority. He also seems to have a little more speed, which is probably accentuated by his quick decisions.

He has, of course, had the costly fumbles, but I really attribute some of that to plain, old bad luck.

We need a strong certainty for next season, especially given the question mark at QB, and it will be GREAT to see him lining up in the backfield in '08.

WoW! he only need 815 yards.. i would exect UT"s all time rushing list would be alot harder to break than that

it doesnt even seem that Foster has had nearly as many good games as Travis Henry!

With all due respect UT never had a 1000 yard rusher until Johnny Jones and that was in the early 80's. This school was known as WR University at the time.

They wasted a year of eligibility with Henry when he played sparingly his frosh season.

what if he runs for 150-200 yards this week, next, the bowl game, and then runs for about 1500 next year?

I wondered who would be the first person to completely discredit any bit of him earning a shot at the record. guess you'll take the gold medal there.
