What if UGA wins, tonight?
Let's try to put a positive spin on this (cue Mission Impossible theme)...
So, Kirby gets lucky and the 2017 Dawgs win the NCG. Expectations of Georgia fans go through the roof. Now, they expect Kirbs to begin a dynasty a la Bama. This doesn't happen. Chaffing from the fans is public, loud, and raw. Discontent puts Athens on edge. The entire campus, nay, the entire city is wrought with anxiety. Folks aren't sleeping so well. Smiles give way to stone faces. Amicable is replaced by cold detachment. A sports media type characterizes the town as a mini NYC, where residents step over the bodies of people in need of assistance. This serves to further inflame Bulldog Nation. Across the state, people are openly expressing there discontent - Georgia's flagship university campus and host city are not what they should be. It's a poor reflection upon the State. Cracks in Kirby's staff begin to show under the pressure. Some depart for calmer pastures. Replacements don't bring about the string of championships Georgia fans feel they deserve. Eventually, they turn on their own. Kirby is kicked to the curb, or worse, takes another P5 gig, abandoning his alma mater. The program descends into chaos. All this because the Dawgs won it all in Kirby's 2nd year as HC.
