Wasnt it pretty obvious that Pruitt didnt allow Helton to run his offense? If so, why would anyone good OC want to come here and be blamed for an offense they dont orchestrate?

How does anyone know how much Pruitt influenced Heltons offense. We saw Pruitt tell him to get more aggressive a few times in games. We heard Pruitt had to pay more attention to the O at practice. We know the O was weak. If the O is failing it is the HCs job to get it fixed. Perhaps Pruitt should have intervened more. We just don’t know.
It happens in every business. If your not doing well you get help from above. If Helton didn’t like it, he needs to grow a pair.

And how is your automatically siding with Pruitt any more different than me not doing it? For all you know, the AU and UK may have been the two where Helton was allowed to do his job.

After Cut left it took Fulmer 28 days to hire an OC. Was Clawson the first choice?

Tennessee OC searches since 2007

Yes, that is correct. No one really wanted to come here because the rumors in the college arena were that Fulmer was on the edge of getting fired. So, what good OC would come to U.T. and likely crash & burn and end up getting fired at seasons end?
In addition to that, that OC would likely be accused of being part of the problem at U.T. and further hurt his reputation.

I bet it took a lot of convincing to get Clawson to come to U.T. in itself. Fulmer knew that things were getting hot, but he thought he had a couple of years to get things fixed. He thought he had a good class coming in and that Clawson would take a couple of years to get things back to acceptable results. So, he probably reassured Clawson that he would be safe and his job would not be in danger anytime soon.

Which will come first, OC or Govt shut down being over?

Trump is stubborn and like it or not, most government employees are Dem's. So, this govt. shut down could last for quiet a while. We have the military, border security & Home Land Security working, so we will be safe during this long period. Might see the Dem's give in because their voting base are being hurt via shut down.
I say after the recruiting class signing period, Pruitt will announce that he will promote Friend. Reason is due to all OC's interviewed wanted to bring their own assistants with them and Pruitt & Fulmer didn't want that. They will present us with a rotten egg and spray perfume on in and polish it up and present it to us as something good and shiny...
How many on here will fall for it???????

Hamilton was too tight with money. Really was a major contributing factor for our decline since we couldn’t hire assistants at market value.
The Administration at UT is so tight @$$ed when it comes to money, when they have to fart, they end up combusting instead.

Pruitts problem is he is thinking about thisbhire like he is still at Bama. At Bama they could wait as long as they wanted and go offer any coach they wanted and that coach would jump at the chance to join a highly successful, been dominate team. UT isn’t even close to that right now and coaches aren’t gonna sit around waiting for our offer, in fact we have to sell them on taking the career risk of joining a team that has had 2 losing seasons and a lot of bad PR in the past few years.
Nailed it.
