"Full" recruiting class...now what?

We have a full class right now but I'm sure they'll be some players flip to other schools on National Signing Day cause it happens all the time. However, if there's better players that wants to jump on board, I'm sure Butch will tell some of our recruits to look elsewhere in order to make room for better players. Don't get me wrong, I wish every recruit we have right now would sign with us cause they're all talented football players but it's highly unlikely that will happen. Which one of our recruits could you see Butch telling to look elsewhere in order to make room for better players?

Poster on TOS said coaches had told recruit they would oversign this year and be taking a 3 scholarship penalty for next years class...

I dont know if this is true but just looking at the #'s and all the people we are still recruiting it would make sense..

Also the people saying Mosely will not be part of this class... He signed his finiancal aid papers.... So he is part of class and will be EE. Along with Thomas, Blair.

I've seen people blast this idea and say it's pretty much program suicide, but personably depending on who you can get I think they should over sign by 2 or 3 and take the penalty.

I'm calling BS on the over signing part.

I am not really sure what the exact penalty is but if it is only 3 scholarships for next class.... meaning we could only sign 22 next year. I think you would clearly do it.....

To me it would upgrade your roster sooner. Especially if you go Juco heavy.... JMO

We are fishing a tournament. We have a full livewell now but we continue to fish hoping to land a bigger fish than what's in our livewell. It's called culling. And it's a great position to be in :)

It's also called high grading in fishing, mining, and forestry.

I respectfully disagree. Only way you pull a guy's scholly that has committed is if they aren't making the grades or has behavior/attitude problems. Both failures on their end. Otherwise, you are not a man if your word, hence worthless.

We want commits to stay true to their word, yet we are saying we are okay with Butch not doing the same? That's a hypocrite or something Kiffin would do.

Or something that every winning program in the country is already doing.

When was the last time every single commit made the grades and made it in? (Eddrick Lofton anyone?). So there is room for at least another commit or two.

I do agree you take better players if they decide to commit. However, telling other players to get lost is not that simple. CBJ and staff are building relationships with high school coaches and he has to be careful which bridges he burns for the '15, '16, etc classes.

I've heard 2 for 1, so if you over sign by 3 you lose 6 scholarships next year making 19 the limit.

Not sure if that's accurate or not, but it's what I've heard.

Thanks for the info :hi:

That would be a high price to pay imo unless Coach believes there are 3 guys that can take us to a championship ...

They commit in this order: Lamin, Malone, Sharpe, Scott, Garrett, Jackson. The whole SEC sh*ts their pants in unison on NSD. And... GO!

P.S. We make room. Lol

If we finish like that, I won't have enough underwear to hold all the bricks I will ****

Some prospects will decommit for whatever reason and we will go back to players, who have committed elsewhere or players for whom we had no room at the time. We will still have a full, top 3 to top 5 recruiting class.
