Still a lot of basketball to play but Fulky's currently hitting @ a .664 clip. In 18 games, he's shot under .500 just twice.

SEASON (MIN. 200 ATT.)
  1. .654 Dale Ellis (257-393) - 1981-82
  2. .645 Reggie Johnson (131-203) - 1976-77
  3. .622 Bernard King (273-439) - 1974-75
  4. .6013 Rob Jones (181-301) - 1984-85
  5. .6012 Dale Ellis (279-464) - 1982-83
  6. .597 Dale Ellis (215-360) - 1980-81
  7. .589 Isiah Victor (126-214) - 1998-99
  8. .587 Reggie Johnson (286-487) - 1978-79
  9. .580 Rob Jones (127-219) - 1985-86
  10. .578 Bernard King (278-481) - 1976-77

Hopefully he can shoot 65% or better with at least 20 scoring opportunities a game! lol

Love Fulk, but I have to admit I’ve never thought to include him in the same breath as Dale Ellis, or anyone else on that list. Stats don’t lie, but then again I’m old. Fulk going to shut down Sampson?

Fulkerson has been amazingly efficient. He just needs to continue to build confidence and knock down a face up 15 footer every now and then. He has it in him. He is athletic and crafty inside for sure despite lack of strength and showing everyone exactly what Barnes has seen in him for years.

I recall listening to those radio broadcasts in the early 80’s. It seemed like Dale Ellis never missed a shot. Incredible how he turned into one of the best perimeter shooters in NBA history. Great player!

JF will be a man next year in his 5th year with experience and leadership. Also with all the players coming in will not be as counted on but will still be at around 12 ppg & 6 rebounds and maybe even higher FG %.. A poor mans Kevin McHale. A lefty too.

You have to remember, most of those on the list played before there was a three point line. They didn't implement that until the mid/late-80's.

True, but find me an outside shooter who puts up these kind of numbers. It is almost always interior guys who shoot %s like this.

Then maybe the list shows that UT has been lacking in inside players who can shoot since the mid-90s at least?

Everyone called me stupid when I said Fulky would be better than Bernard King by his junior season.
epic blue font my friend. I salute you in your masterful flamebaiting.

People this is a perfect example of hyperbole at its finest a statement so ridiculous no sane person would take it seriously but.... these days the lols are endless.

It never crossed my mind that I needed blue font for sarcasm clarity in saying that John Fulkerson is better than Bernard King. Nor did I think I was stirring the pot, flaming, or baiting. Just me in a silly mood saying something comically ridiculous. Also didn’t mean to demean Fulky. Love what he brings to the team. Hopefully I’ve covered my bases now!

The entire list is impressive. The highlighted is crazy #s given the attempts.

Dale Ellis in 3 seasons took 1217 shots and made .617

I was joking about the flame-baiting i really liked it because it was obvious you were joking but everyone had a hernia. I just thought it hilarious how such an obvious joke went so far over so many people's heads.

I think Fulkerson can play facing the basket and can put the ball on the floor. When starts to do that he is going to be that much more effective.

Dale Ellis was a shooter Fulkerson is a layup man, but he could break it as long as he don't start shooting threes.

Dale Ellis played in the paint as a Vol, when he went pro then he shot the lights out from 3. They did not have a 3 pt line in college when Dale played.
