In this thread you stated there was no chance of Gruden. Then why bring the info that PF was in Florida to the Gruden thread?

This is from Grandvol it's on the first page of the Gruden thread, if you would like a more serious Gruden Thread feel free to start one for discussion. That's what a message board is for.

And before we get started, a public service announcement...

This is not just a thread about Gruden. It encompasses all things coaching search related and is an awesome conduit to pass on information along those lines. For those that feel the need to step in and say "Why are these threads still going?/You people are stupid!/Please just let this die!" please refrain.

It's very simple. If you can't read about a page and see what's going on, please leave without comment. It does you no good to say such things without knowing the depth of what we discuss in here. It's like 70% OT, 15% Alcohol, 5% Coaching Search, 5% poking fun at each other and 5% Gruden.

Kindly read before posting and enjoy the ride.

Cheers.

Yeah I don't think there's a snow balls chance in hell he would leave Blacksburg but it is worth noting

A friend of mine in Daytona said Fuente is FSU's first choice to replace Fisher. He said FSU is an "offense" team and wants Fuente badly.

Personally, I believe I would rather have Norvell.

At this point, I agree. Memphis looked like a well coached team. Don't know if he will, but I would have to think Fulmer should put him in the mix of coaches to at least interview. Would like it if Fulmer could get Davenport, et al to sign off on original offer to Brohm and see if he will re-engage.

If someone mentions Fuentes once more, I will kill their cat. Not dog. I like dogs.
Fuentes will Not do interviews.
How many times must he say he’s staying at VPI.

Can't see him leaving after so short a time there, and
with the good success and support he seems committed
to the Hokies.

I personally believe Chad Morris would be a great hire, the OC at Clemson would be great as well.

I believe Les would be a decent hire, he knows the SEC, can recruit, and he being in the EAST side may work out to his benefit, but now, he has to contend with Kirby Smart and UGA, but if anyone can do it, he could. I would love to see Tee come on as OC, and Steele as DC, but believe thats a dream.

To be blunt, we can speculate all we want, but whoever AD Fulmer (sounds good to say his name again with UT, dont care what folks think about Fulmer, call me a Fulmerite all you want, since he left, we havent done squat other than win a few second tier bowl games, when we should have won the East at least twice). Anyway, had to get that out, right now, I just would love to have someone that cares about this program and get us on the right track.

And for those that expect an overnight success, how about setting your expectations a little lower, our recruiting is going to take a bit of a beating this year. I would like to go out and get some comm. college transfers, its worked for us in the past, so lets do that to address our pitiful defense and oline.

And lastly, QB has to be up for grabs not convinced Gaurantano is the answer, prefer McBride to be honest.

Fuentes is the coach who turned Memphis around and the one we want. Mike Norvell is a good coach but he is winning with Funetes' players. Norvell is hit or miss and we can't afford another miss. Fuentes would be a great hire. Coaches always say they are not leaving right before they leave. Put him on the list!

The fact that Petersen and Shaw are on the list is a good thing. Now whether we would even talk to them is a different matter. We can only hope.

Petersen or Shaw would both require you bring the brinks truck, plus you need to know if they enjoy wearing a kevlar suit. A week and a half ago, you might have needed just the money. After last week, I expect whoever takes these guys calls to tell Fulmer, "I am so sorry, he doesn't want to be disturbed today, because he felt a sudden urge to change the air in the tires of every vehicle he has, and he is doing it for his assistants AND players too."

Wow.
The cat population continues to go down.
I warned y’all yesterday.

Fuentes and Patterson are not legitimate contenders... More so for the big name than actual candidate.

Patterson said the last time he interviewed with UT they decided they didn't want him cause he can't win the big games.. Once again this past week. he proved it. Oklahoma took his team tot he woodshed.. Bama would do the same to him in the SEC.:good!:

I am not sure that was a coaching failure, but more than a talent limitation. They got 'out-athleleted'

Mayfield makes a lot of teams look that way. He is a born leader. He just makes things happen on the field. He's like Russell Wilson.:good!:
