Frost is out

NO AGENT WILL LET THEIR CLIENTS TOUCH TENNESSEE RIGHT NOW.

It's 2017 it's business football

After yesterday AGENTS ARE ADVISING CLIENTS TO DOGE TENNESSEE AT ALL COSTS

You wanna know the ironic thing? If it wasn't for your constant cheerleading of Schiano, he probably would be the head coach of UT now.

From what I may have read on here, Jeff Brohm is the next man up. That guy won't leave Purdue after one year. Word is he is a quiet guy who doesn't like the limelight. Next on the list is Tee Martin. Give it to Tee, let him run it without interference, and let's go!

We have moved past a splash hire. Tee Martin is not yet HC material. I like him but, we can do much better. Frost is off the table. Really, I don't believe he was ever on it. We do have Mike Leach. Whether he would be open to talking to us is another matter. He would be a sensational hire. SEC coaches would have to be scratching their heads when it comes to trying to figure this man out on game day. Another real candidate is Les Miles. I really don't understand why so many people think he isn't a good coach. His record in the SEC shows otherwise. Sumlin, the fired HC from Texas A & M, would not be a good choice. I believe he may go to Arkansas and Jimbo Fisher to A & M. Believe it or not, Lane Kiffin can coach and is, or, will be in demand and he knows it. Look what he did for Alabama. Alabama is missing him and his knowledge on the field. That showed during the Auburn game. Notre Dame's coach may speak to us if we tried to reach out. And Stanford too. We need a great hire after this Sunday, and we know Currier is not going to be part of it so the Chancellor must get involved. Chancellor makes some phone calls, please....

Everyone said the Schiano to Tennessee what I was telling EVERYONE WAS HAPPENING WAS BS TOO

TELLING YOU NOW

AGENTS WILL NOT LET CLIENTS ENTERTAIN TENNESSEE NOW......

Too toxic and have unrealistic expectations

Do you have evidence for this, or are we just "too ignorant" to understand it? Your words in the other thread. If you hate your fellow Vols so much, why don't you just go support OSU, I mean that's where your guy is anyways.

Frost has 2 things in the way. His Alma mater is open. But I don't think that's as hard to turn down as his mentor Tom Osbourne telling Frost we need you here. We can't overcome that.

they can say what they want but Schiano is done as a HC in college, may be done all together. UT fans may be the first but they wont be the last to uprise on coaching hires in the future.

He makes a passable DC, but you are right, he's not HC material especially after yesterday. Not just the PSU stuff, but his record and the general feeling that he's a not very good person and his players generally hate him.

I hate defending Vols1707 but he is somewhat correct. Agents know that Currie is a lame duck AD and most coaches want to know who their boss will be. Agents and coaches know that our administration is incompetent. Agents know that after yesterday, it will be more difficult to work with UT in the future (Agents are all about maximizing their fees with the least amount of work possible). With all that being said, as long as UT is offering money, agents and coaches will continue to flock (i.e FOLLOW THE MONEY!); however, UT has lost whatever bargaining leverage they do have. This is 100% on the administration and AD Currie.

Before yesterday's crazy attempted hire, there seemed to be a lot of interest in Scott Frost from UCF. I understand that the Neb. job is open, but we need to go after him now! Make an offer that would bring him here. A few millions will change minds in a hurry. After yesterday we are going to have to over pay to get a really good coach anyway. Okay, then let's pay what it takes to get this ship turned in the right direction.
We also have Sumlin, Petersen and even Kiffin as possible hires. What say you Vol Nation? Oh, by the way, stopping yesterday's attempted hire was the right thing to do, regardless of what the media says! I believe Currie is a good man. He just made a mistake. We will recover. We just need to go get a really good coach!
What say you VOLNATION???

Tennessee does not have an Athletic Director problem we have a systemic problem in the administration. This "problem" has been there a long time and is keeping our program down. In fact this "problem" could quite possibly kill the football program permanently is not addressed NOW! What happened on Sunday just exposed what the real "problem" is.

The problem can be summed up in one word, HASLAM. Unfortunately to fix the issues at UT someone will have to tell Jim Haslam to get our of the Tennessee football business and concentrate on destroying the Cleveland Browns while he weighs in on the protest issues of the NFL.

What UT needs to do is fire everyone in the UT chain of command down to Currie immediately and bring in Fulmer or Blackburn as the new AD. Won't happen because of the last name of the Governor. UT is now on the level of Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

Proof please? You keep spewing this as if it is ironclad fact. The truth is that many see this as the fans saving the AD from a terrible hire. Schiano's coaching resume isn't good. You asked several times if he's a good coach. Well, in 11 years at Rutgers he had a 28-48 conference record. He never won the Big East (even Jones was able to tie). He only had 4 winning conference records in 11 years.

Then you add the fact that his involvement with the PSU scandal is in dispute... the offer should have NEVER been made.

I do not know if Currie can garner the respect of a quality candidate or not. Hopefully he simply acknowledges his mistake and moves on. But if there's any reason a candidate would shy away... it isn't because the fans were wrong.

Schiano would have been an extremely unimpressive hire with no initial support from fans. He certainly was not on my wish list. Now all wish lists are irrelevant.
