From here on, shut the hell up!

And if top calibur players stop coming to Knoxville, the program will decline and drop out of the "big time" category. If that happens, alot of fair weather fans will stop coming to games. We'll fall further and further. Everything starts and ends with the quality of players our coaching staff is able to put on the field.

New Flash. We've already declined and we've already dropped out of the football elite category. What difference does it make if we get top recruits and the coaching staff can't effectively mold them into a cohesive, winning team? Phil Fulmer is a joke everywhere I go in terms of his total body of work in the last ten years. I always remark to other SEC fans my desire to get rid of Fulmer. You know what? Not a single one ever asked me "why?".

I don't recall booing starting us on this slow train to irrelevance.

I don't get why some people on here think we're irrelevant.

We compete or our division title every year. We often play for the SEC title. We're in a bowl every year. We bring in top recuriting classes every year. We send players to the NFL every year.

We're far from irrelevant.

You didn't mention championships? Omission?

because the division title is meaningless since it is only a competition in which 3 teams have an actual prayer of winning.

Recruiting classes that garner us no hardware has earned us an awful reputation and again, people are after meaningful wins.

We are not ranked, we will not play in a bowl game and very few of our highlight are on ESPN. Rivals ranks on a weekly basis the top 25 players at each position on the field. We have 1 football player on that entire list.

Last year's recruiting class was mediocre at best and our lack of depth will show it over the next couple of seasons.

Basically, we have been less newsworthy this season than Ole Miss. That is the very definition of irrelevance.

You couch it however you wish to feel better about the program, but it's not getting any better under this regime. If you think it's good enough and are willing to live with it in perpetuity, you just keep rooting for it.

However, when these kids, who don't know a great deal about what's going on, hear those fans boo their own team at home, they walk away with a bad taste in their mouths and, like Josh Nunez, decide they'd rather go elsewhere. They don't know why you're booing, they just know they don't like how it makes them feel in Neyland Stadium.

I've posted this in about 20 other threads, so I might as well post it here.

If players don't want to come to UT because of booing, they can take their pansy asses elsewhere. I don't want 'em, and neither does anyone who enjoys watching players with backbones compete for the Vols on Saturdays.

Don't pass off your agenda as if you are the arbitrator for the 500,000 vols fans across the nation. Its very likely that the UT job could be the 3rd best job in the nation and we end up replacing crap with ****. you don't run a legend out midseason, make fun all you want but it isn't happening. Lets cross that bridge when we get there, but for the next 3 weeks, lets have some PRIDE!

It is virtually impossible to replace Fulmer and not come out with an upgrade!!!! As long as he takes his inept coaching staff with him, it is safe to say that any replacement at all will be an upgrade. I know the man has an overall impressive track record but you have to understand that he and his coaches have lost the ability to see things that junior high school coaches should see. They are incapable of making adjustments and changes that are so obvious that an average fan in the stands would make them. They have lost their ability to listen to reason and are so stubborn and set in their ways that they refuse to do the proper things to let their team compete against the opposition. With that said, having no coach at all would probably be better for our team because Fulmer and crew have somehow figured out how to consistently make their team worse. Once again, any new head coach at UT will be an upgrade so presenting the 3rd best coaching job in the country to a list of prospects sounds alot better than keeping Fulmer. Maybe he will just retire at year's end and things will take care of themselves. The only problem, is that our idiot athletic director will probably try to hire David Cutcliffe if Fulmer retires. I give up.

Well we are here, do you have any pride left?
