From a Fulmer supporter.....IMO

I am not sure he is a bammer fan. He posts on the tennessean.com all the time. He is in every UT thread trolling and bashing, but he refuses to say which team he roots for. He just says he is anti-UT

I say ban him now and get it over with
He was banned for trolling here about three years ago.

This is the point I am trying to make.....noone knows anything other then "Fire Fulmer" or clean house......
Sure that's all anyone knows. We are not in the position to know anything. Everyone has their own opinions, but in the end we have nothing to do with it. Look at the bball situation. Everyone was saying that we should go after a big name. I saw Bob Knight's name thrown around here quite a bit. BP seemed to come out of nowhere. Look at that hire now. It turned out to be a grand slam. When it comes to finding the next coach I have complete confidence that MH can find the right guy.

yanno, I would buy into that if our basketball team had ever won anything (MH had nothing to lose)......but MH has never faced a task that he is facing right now.....a proven coach, a winner, an alumni, a former player.......MH got very lucky with BP, when it comes time to find a new Head Football Coach, he will be in unchartered waters and I sure wouldn't wanna be in his shoes.....

Hire a respectable Coordinator or a head coach from a smaller school. Change is nothing to fear. This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Here are some names: Brent Venables DC from Oklahoma

Bo Pelini DC from LSU (though he is probably Nebraska Bound)

Gary Patterson TCU head coach

Chris Hatcher, Georgia Southern's coach

Or (pipe dream) Leavitt from USF

I don't understand this bad timing thing. Is it because there isn't any big names available right now? Money talks and UT will pay with the best of them.

Is it recruiting? It's going to hurt recruiting when a new coach comes in nearly every time. But UT getting their collective asses handed to them every time they play on the road this season hurts recruiting a helluva lot more.

I see what you're getting at but the football program has gotten to that point too where Mike has nothing to lose. Can it really get any worse? I hate to sound so negative but it has become reality. They have gotten throttled, hammered or blown-out, however you want to put it to bama, florida and cal. Loses are going to happen, there are going to be 3 and sometimes 4 loss seasons but this is different. There is a feeling that the recent performance may be more permanent than temporary and the losses where just too bad. Cal is now on the bottom side of the top 25 and bama squeeked by teams such as Ole Miss and Houston yet they destroyed UT. At the end of the day Fulmer is an employee not a charity worker and he gets paid well to produce. He knows the consequences if he doesn't. Seeing as he was the man that replaced Johnny Majors he should understand the situation as well as anyone. I also think UT could find a great coach to replace him.

P.S. Geez, whats up with people like Truth Teller? Is it really that much fun to troll all day? I've seen his stuff on Tennessean.com, in fact, you can read his stuff on there today about UT. I would love to see Hatvol destroy this person.

How can you be a leader of a football team and not know why one of your workhorse running backs wasn't ever on the field?? To me, this is the most disturbing thing I have ever witnessed in our football program!! How can any player (Montario Hardesty) have any confidence in his coach?? How can I....

We are quitters, we can't handle adversity and we have ZERO confidence out on the field....reflection of the staff!!

I truly believe Fulmer isn't going anywhere which I am beginning to think is NOT a good thing!!

Just for a second (forget about us, the fans) keep the mindset that Fulmer isn't leaving and we are stuck with him....Where does he go from here to make our football program better?? How can he earn the confidence in his players back?? How does he earn the respect of his team and coaches?? How does Phil Fulmer regain his confidence back so he can instill that in his players?? What are the little things he needs to do?? What are the BIG things he needs to do?? Is any of this possible??

I see this.....I see a head coach that is afraid to step on the toes of his OC.....Cut was a HC for a while and I think that is intimidating to CPF and he doesn't have the balls to be "hands on" interactive with the offense!! How does CPF handle this?? I think it is important the HC knows who is out on the field and why a player is not.....call me crazy!!

One of his best friends ever is the DC.....Does CPF have the balls to distinguish BUSINESS over personal relationships?? Again, I don't think he has the balls to step on these toes either....and maybe Chavis thinks his job is secure as long as ole buddy Phil is in charge!! I have an idea here how Phil could earn some respect back!

If you are a current player....what can CPF do to gain your trust, earn your respect and make you believe in yourself??

If you are a prospect....what can CPF do to gain your trust, earn your respect and eventually get you here??

Ok, I am not defending anyone (CPF can't be defended as of now).......I have asked the VolNation some questions, now lets see your opinions:

CPF isn't going anywhere.....

Mike Hamilton is not gonna make a move for at least 1 or 2 years away if at all

and CPF ain't gonna retire

I don't think there is anyone out there that can replace CPF right now and timing is the key with every hire and fire in business.....

So, forget about the haters and smarta**es, in your honest opinion if CPF isn't going anywhere and thats apparent.....what can he do to EARN respect and get his players productive??
Phil is a great guy. Thats his problem to nice. I believe he won't throw anyone else under the bus. Hopefully he will resign with dignity and take up space in the AD's office. Keep him around for recruiting but he won't do it. We still have to suffer through the rest of the season first. I don't see it being very pleasent.

Lets take Vandy or Kentucky's coaches. They know how to make little talent play with great talent you'd think they'd be able to make great talent play with great talent at UT.

You mean the Kentucky assistant coach we dispatched two years ago?
