I remember “Friends in Low Places” being sung by what seemed like the entire stadium during the Florida game in 2022. “Low Places” seemed to resonate with the crowd when we were stuck in 20 years of disappointment. My thoughts were “Yeah, we have sucked. But we’re still here and living well!”

Maybe “Low Places” is no longer fitting for where we are as a program, but I don’t care for pop country. Anyone who isn’t in a hall of fame of any kind doesn’t really lift my spirits as a participating fan in a “this is storied Neyland Stadium” sense.

Exactly how is that inspiring? It isn't!

I did love the song when it first came out, and still like it in spite of being one of the most overplayed songs of all time, but it makes ZERO sense in a football stadium.

Out of all the songs about cheating Michigan went with that one. That's gotta be embarrassing forcing that song on your fan base.
