I'm wondering how the linebackers are doing. Any chance Askew or any other of the freshman start?

I think Askew and King will play, not sure about starting.

When they go full pads Saturday, we should have a better idea.

Practice is open to anyone. No camera's though. Go in the gate next to the baseball stadium. Nuke is SICK today. Going up for catches and hardesty looks great. Stevens has looked crisp and crompton looked good but consistency is his issue.

Crompton has thrown two picks that have been returned to the house, while Stephens has looked a lot sharper - hitting Warren, Jones, and Nuke on some big plays.

I'll take my chances with Stephens. Crompton is a head case and I'm starting to wonder if the kid has the mental capacity to take what he learns in installs and practice and apply it in game situations. Head case + learning disabilities= 5-7 record

Those updates from Wes are great, thanks for that. The news he is bringing isn't so great however.

Well, if Crompton is going to telegraph his passes as Wes Rucker is insinuating than he isn't going to be the starter in the fall. You can't stare down your receivers in the SEC let alone against a good college defense. Sounds like Stephens will end up being the starter if he keeps out performing Crompton like he has been this week.

I think this is Crompton's biggest weakness. He has got to learn to stop staring down receivers and make quicker decisions.

Stephens does the same thing and has not outperformed Crompton this week. BTW...Wes twittered an INT from Stephens a few minutes ago.

I'm sorry but I don't think any QB on our roster is going to be stable at the position this year.

Yeah, he was finally picked off by Art Evans who some say is our best cover corner.

Also, Crompton has had plenty of time to learn to not stare down his receivers. He's in his 5th year of SEC ball.

...And yes, Stephens has outperformed Crompton in practice this week.

Any news on Ben Martin? All I ever hear about is Chris Walker and Wes Brown. Ben Martin was suppose to be a stud when Tennessee recruited him. Anyone know how he is doing?

I think I remember reading that he has looked good so far. I think Walker is just outshining him right now because he has just been so beastly.
