Dobbs is limited as a passer, which isn't ideal but also doesn't mean he and the entire offense can't be good.
There need to be plays dialed up that move the pocket, allow Dobbs to move outside the pocket to find receivers (and limit his reads to one side of the field), and designed run/pass option plays for him. I didn't see any of that in the opener. Dobbs clearly has trouble dropping back in the pocket, being stationary, making a read, and making a good throw. Johnny Manziel was the same way. Not saying Dobbs is as athletic as Manziel, but when he was at A&M they really played to his strengths. Manziel was/is a terrible drop-back passer, but that wasn't always apparent when he was in college because they hardly ever made him do it.
The job of a coaching staff is to put your players in situations to make plays and maximize their ability. If DeBord can't or won't do that, he needs to go.
