I know what it means. The scenario involved a hypothetical, not past events, so I was not sure how hindsight applied.

No, it's a easy to get caught thinking all 5s are super stars.

That's simply not the case take Chris Donald was suppose to be the guy at UT and wash out an ended up at UTM.

Well many do become superstars. I know all about Donald and OJ Owens, but I just looked at the 2012 recruits and of 35 Five* players, most
are in the NFL now, most were stars, and only 3 were busts. And that sadly includes one murderer from A&M.

I don't know if ~10% is the norm, but there's a reason those guys get that fifth star.

Numbers alone is one of the biggest problems. We rotate so much there is no rhythm. Also I never understood an up tempo team that subs every play. That's not up tempo that allows the other team to sub, kinda defeats the purpose. I think we have a great year. I just don't know how great.

To clarify....which one is your nephew?
Edit: Never mind, I found where you said you were Charles Johnson's brother.

Charles is my brother..Brandon is my nephew.. A lot of articles I read saying saying chad Johnson is his uncle but its his cousin on his mom side of the family..chad dad was a Johnson.. But chad is no relation to my brother only his wife..

This all day. Can't get in a groove with your QB if you're only in for a down or two.

That's what Monday thru Friday is about. When you're on the field on Saturday it's time to run the play like you practiced all week. That's the groove and the rhythm. Play like they practice and we'll be fine.

Welcome to Volnation, I'll be rooting for your nephew.

I'll see you in Tampa.

And that hasn't worked out very well the past three years, has it? Game-time rythym is completely different than practicing against your team mates and your own defense. Wide Receiver U did not have a platoon-substitute appoach during games, as I recall. It all depends on getting to know the guy defending you and figuring out how to beat him. Takes more than a couple of snaps each series to do that. All about gametime matchups, mano a mano.

WR is a demanding position, a great way to block a CB is to run a fly route on man coverage, run him out of the play. A WR will run routes against man coverage to set the CB up for later, catch him looking. Change the receive and run the CB ragged all game, you need a few to be effective.

That's why run, run, pass works so well, the CB is sucking wind against a fresh WR. Depth is important.
