I'm thinking Nelson is a big time sleeper from the ATL...Stone Mountain plays in a tough conference.

I think Lathers is about to take the MLB spot over too.

And I really like that group, plus solid backup. If the line can keep some guys off them, these guys have the wheels to make plays.

Agreed, I have been hoping all along that Lathers and Frazier lock down those two starting spots. I like the athleticism that they bring.

I think if those guys play and play well we'll have a good year. Also I think with Askew and King getting a year to learn the system they can become dynamic defenders in the future.

I think Savion Frazier and Rico have their spots locked down for the year. Barring injury of course.

McCoy, Lathers, Frazier sounds like a good starting group to me.

Reveiz, Donald, King and Askew should all make contributions.

I really could see D. Myles getting on the field as a LB in a few years if we are thin at LB and loaded in the secondary. A couple of years in a weight program and he could easily be big enough and would be great as a cover MLB for Monte's scheme.

Myles is a safety end of discussion.

anybody inthe know which is looking the best Askew,King,or Nelson...

King has easily been the most impressive from what I gather. He had an INT today and seems to be fitting in well. He is the guy I would look for to see the field first out of those 3. I have a feeling Reveiz won't be the starter at MLB for long, if at all. It will either be King or Lathers imo...

Frazier does not start. He is still on the 2nd string. At the moment, the starters are Thompson, McCoy, and Reveiz. McCoy is the only one who has a guaranteed starting spot. It will be a battle for the other 2...

I will be shocked if Frazier doesn't move up to 1st string. Thompson has wheels but Frazier is a better tackler and overall better athlete.

Thompson starting means he has gotten a whole lot better since last fall (which is not a bad thing at all).

I agree with everything you said. I've thought since the beginning of Spring, Frazier would be starting. But, I'm still waiting...

Yes, he is a safety as long as he doesn't outgrow the position.

A guy like Myles who can cover like a safety but is physical like a LB is a dream to play MLB in the Tampa 2.

If we are stacked in the secondary and Myles continues to grow then I can see him at MLB if his run support is good enough.

Adam meyers-white was a top safety and ended up at lb.

Happens all the time. Brian Urlacher is a great example.

He was too small for a LB coming out of HS but was a large safety. NMSU has a position called "the lobo" that is a hybrid between a MLB and a SS.

Myles is 6'3 and well over 200 lbs. If he can get to around 220 or over then he would be perfect for a hybrid LB/S position.

Would you rather have a guy like N. Reveiz playing coverage as Monte's MLB or would you rather have a guy like Myles who can definitely cover and will probably end up bigger than Reveiz?

Myles has a frame that could easily add 20 lbs of muscle without losing speed. The kid is already jacked.

I think he will stay at the safety position. I once thought he would move if he was was actually 215 lbs like someone said, but I've yet to see an actual report that he's that big. I'd say he's more like 205.

No freshmen LBs will be starters come the WKU game.
I am with you on this JG....But I can see all three of them providing very good depth.

I have heard that Nelson has actually been the most impressive....It will come down to who knows the system and being able to help in coverage...

With Monte's scheme you HAVE to be able to play the pass or you are done.

I agree with most of this but I just don't see Myles putting on 20 more lbs....He isn't well over 200, he is right at 200....I think he would struggle when we needed him to solely play the run...He just doesn't have the body to play BIG so to speak....
