.....is a joy to listen to on the radio. Straight shooter and most of all doesn't let his old playing days get in the way of saying what he thinks.

Polar opposite of Overstreet.

Agreed. He had several good points yesterday on TV too. They were discussing our lack of a decent pass rush, and like everyone I have heard all the members of the panel were placing the blame on the D-line, but Fred brought up the point that it all really came back to the secondary. He mentioned in his playing days, the secondary was good enough to man up and cover guys one on one, thus freeing the linebackers to rush the passer and stay in the box to stop the run. He said that now since our secondary can't cover, we're stuck using our linebackers to assist in pass coverage, which leaves us only four guys rushing the passer, no wonder we can't get any pressure. He was very insightful, and also mentioned it's not just him that can't figure out what's happened to UT, he said during the game he got calls from both Deon Grant and Gibril Wilson wondering what the heck was going on with defense.

he was also critical of Berry's footwork before he picked off the pass for a TD.

also, as they were picking the rest of the games for this season, he picked arkansas to beat us because he said that even if we put 12 or 13 guys out on the field we still couldn't stop mcfadden

I really enjoy listening Fred White too. To me he seems like the voice of reason in a situation that has become more politics than football.
