*****Freak's Thursday before South Carolina, admittedly off topic thread

I know we usually do this on Friday, but I couldn't wait. Who knows, maybe we'll get them up a littler earlier in the week this year. If the worst were to happen, and Tennessee doesn't win, I may relinquish the reigns to @Notorious B.E.N or someone else to do the honors next week. Yes, I'm superstitious. Not really. Ok, a little.

For those not familiar, this is a general thread where you can post about anything on your mind (except stuff that should be in the politics forum), whether it be Tennessee football related or not. Consider it our friendly tailgate party, where we hang out as the game approaches.

Also, a reminder, if you haven't already, get your entries posted in in the pick-the-score contest thread. As we do every year, we'll be giving away an Amazon gift card to the winner each week.

So let's get it started!

It's hard for me to believe that the season is finally upon us. Part of me probably won't fully believe it until I see the team running onto the field Saturday night. I posted in another thread that this has been the longest we've been without Tennessee football since the season last kicked off in my lifetime, and it feels like it. I'm anxious for that void in my life to be filled. I might even break out my "Vol Network Greatest Hits" CD.

It should be a good game according to Vegas. Last I saw the line was Tennessee favored by around 3 to 3.5 points. I'm guessing the home team advantage will be less this year, so let's hope we come out and start off strong. Any chance we see Cade Mays? Who emerges at tight end with Pope out for the year? Will we see many freshmen?

Who's going to the game this weekend? I know some of you posted about buying tickets online. For those of us stuck at home, let us know your plans for the weekend and post any pictures, if you can find the time. We'd all appreciate living vicariously through you. lol.

For those stuck at home, like me, any big plans this weekend for the game? Tailgates? Gatherings? Food menu? Other high school, college or pro games you're looking forward to? I'll probably check in on the college and NFL game that's on tonight with Freak Jr. and take in as many games as I can on Saturday. It doesn't look like the best schedule as far as premier matchups, but I'm looking forward to all of the SEC games. I'm anxious to see both Leach and Kiffin on the sidelines in the SEC.

On an off topic note of interest, did anyone else pre-order a PS5 or Xbox Series S/X this week? It was a frustrating experience to say the least, but it's an exciting time if you're a gamer like me. And I refer to myself as a gamer, using the term very loosely. I don't have the time to play that I used to, and I'm too old to be very good, but I still enjoy it.

Anyway, I hope everything has a great Friday and a great weekend, and I look forward to reading in this thread about what everyone is up to.

Go Vols!

[edit: @joevol33 bring some of those 200k+ posts in here and help me get this thing going. :) ]
Well I’m late. But I am working OT to buy the new Xbox series X . Like you , not as young (30) as I wished I could be but young enough to be good at it and looking forward to playing the new CODs and Halo Infinite. I seen some one wrote Cade isn’t joning the team trip down, any real noise to this? As most of you are , I’ll be grilling some burgers , hotdogs , pork chops , and something we haven’t tried yet but sounds good is grilled Kielbasa with grilled corn. I’m pretty nervous tbh about the opener. COVID has turned everything upside down but I’m excited to see the kids strap up and kick same tale. Trying a new tradition this year. Going to wear my Tn jersey to bed starting tonight and if we win tomorrow then I’ll be wearing it every Friday night before. Thanks for sharing and hope everyone enjoys the game. GBO🍊

Got my prep done for a nice pot of chili tomorrow.

2020 has been one of the worst years (next to 2001) of my lifetime. I can't tell you how happy I am that we can all come together through VolNation for another football season.

Looking forward to lurking in the game thread tomorrow, I will be cheering and butt-clenching, as appropriate.

Going to move a little hay for our hobby farm, knock one or two other things off the list for winter. Get cleaned up, fire up the grill for the two awesome ribeyes I picked up from the butcher today, sit back and enjoy a couple nice cold ones during the game.

Got my Ribeyes for tomorrow! God willing I'm gonna get up and hit the gym, then come home and watch football all day.

Celebrated wife’s birthday from earlier this week with dinner. Just relaxing and getting evil eye from wife due to me not missing the game tomorrow night because a stupid relative decided to get married tomorrow night. Nephews and cousins stupid enough to do a wedding in Tennessee will not have me in attendance. They never show up to anything we do except to eat and run off right after. GBO

Fall weddings shouldn't be allowed on Saturdays in the South.

Does anyone know if Vols (and or SCjr) have announced any pregame activities regarding social unrests (support for BLM)?
Apparently UF and Ole Miss had a joint kneeling session before their game today and am wandering if anyone know what if anything has been planned for our game(s) this year?

Never mind and sorry for disturbing you - google search found enough posts about how UT is approaching this.

Looks like Missouri's DB coach is out this week and next week for the Tennessee game because of COVID.
