Very interesting that Sony is taking the opposite approach from Microsoft. I wonder what sort of protocol they have developed to avoid game piracy... ???

As we all know, modded xboxes are running linux and they can use that to tell the xbox in software that a disc is an original.

Don't forget that MS is releasing a code package for creating games. Nothing near a complete OS or what this Linux appears to be, but they are doing a little for home coders.

True, but not near enough. The control a full package OS offers is far better. That said, since I run XBMC it is pretty much a better version of MCE, WITHOUT the control offered by an OS.

Honestly if better streaming options were available for the 360 (ie MPEG-4 support, it IS an industry standard after all) combined with the homebrew package (assuming it is fairly powerful) I'd be pretty happy with the options available on the 360.
